I have a Capresso brand TEAMluxe coffee maker. You pour in the beans in the top left canister, pour in your water, program the # of cups, adjust the grind that you want, swing the basket to the left, punch a button, and voila...........the finest batch of coffee (espresso roast beans, naturally) you've ever had. Killer stuff.

Can't beat Eight O'Clock beans for consistency, freshlly ground just before dripping up a big pot of the aromatic brew. Ahh, the blessings of caffeine! Fuel for the feckless fingers of rangling writers.

Oh... DeRrRrR!!! I forgot to mention my FAVORITE coffee... YUBAN! In those big fat cans they sell at Sams Club! I LOVE it! Been drinking it for years! So spoiled that the chicory laced liquid syrup based poo-poo I get at work tastes like motor oil (used) in comparison.

Howabout adulterants for your coffee? I personally will use nothing but high quality Half & Half. In my book Cremora makes a better explosive then a creamer. Same with all the other powdered cheapie YUCK STUFF!

/me chants HALF! HALF! HALF & HALF! to the rhythm of the old "Mao! Mao!" chants of the 60's.

Bigelow has bought the Charleston Tea Company. This is the only one grown in the United States!

"American Classic Tea", the only tea grown in America, is produced 20 miles south of Charleston, South Carolina, deep in the South Carolina Lowcountry, on the subtropical sea island of Wadmalaw. Just minutes from the majestic homes along the Battery and other sights of Charleston, a unique heritage is maintained that began in 1799 when a French botanist brought the first tea plants to America.

Ever read Niven's "Mote in God's Eye"? I re-read that one yearly...the discussion in here reminds me of Horace Bury's "educating" the navy spaceship crew about coffee. To them, it was black and helped you make it through the shift. To him, a thousand delights. (Although, I would love one of the Watchmaker-designed coffee pots, which bleeds all oils and contamination to the outside of the pot, leaving only pure coffee within...)

Two years ago our son bought two pounds of a Jamaican blend that goes for about $40 per pound back here. Mmm-mmm-good! That's coffee, right?
