Agreed. We make the deal, let it be known that he has some really bad stuff on the Clintons, and the Clintons will find a way to have him whacked.

Interesting to see if this is true. Seems more like propaganda to scare the Iraqi people into not helping in the progress of taking control of their country.

"a lot of journalists are using the same guides and translators that they used before the war, because they know them. They don't seem to realise that those people were carefully selected by the regime because of their loyalty to Saddam's line. So most journalists are getting a totally distorted picture."

I found this interesting too, just a scrap of info (as Rummy would say) to help see a bigger picture.

Thanks for the link.

When I said I'd heard the story before, I was thinking more of this part:

Saddam was demanding safe passage ... in exchange for information on weapons of mass destruction....

I think that Saddam should be udaid like ah yesterday.

Perhaps this will help you to come to a decision sooner rather than later:

Attack Kills 2 Americans Near Iraq Prison

September 21, 2003

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Two U.S. military police officers were killed and 13 were injured in a mortar attack on the Abu Ghraib prison west of Baghdad, the military reported Sunday.

The attack took place at about 10 p.m. Saturday and injured no inmates in the prison.

The deaths brought to 164 the number of U.S. soldiers who have died in Iraq since May 1 when President Bush declared major fighting was over. During the heavy fighting before then, 138 soldiers died.

I remember that not long after reports of Uday trying to score a deal for his safe passage that he did receive passage but it was far from being safe. Maybe it will go the same way for Uday's pappy.

A curse on Saddam's moustache and all the rest of his body hairs. May he be slapped with 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0000 pairs of shoes.

The source maintained that Saddam had decided to seek a deal "because he is desperate, trapped and finding fewer and fewer people willing to give him shelter," the tabloid said.

I got a deal for him. It involves whatever amount of ammunition it takes to decimate him and those around him.

OK, let's all laugh at the tabloids but it seems to me that in recent years the tabloids' record of accuracy has been rather better than, say, the New York Times's.

Saddam negotiating with US: press

I think it was just a typo and the headline should have read:

Saddam negotiating with US press

Do you remember the famous headline British Left Waffles on Falkland Islands?
