Schwarzenegger: McClintock a Pawn of Pro-Bustamante Indians
NewsMax ^ | Spet. 19, 2003 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 09/19/2003 8:52:17 PM PDT by FairOpinion

American Indians who are supporting Democrat front-runner Cruz Bustamante in California are also promoting Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock, and GOP front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger is furious.

"I think that as far as Tom McClintock is concerned, I think the question I have for him is, what side is he on?" Schwarzenegger said Thursday. "Is he on the side of the Republicans? Does he represent the Republicans, or does he represent Bustamante?"

Schwarzenegger suggested that the tribes were abetting Bustamante by trying to split the Republican vote.

"They are financing his commercials and TV spots and all that," said Schwarzenegger, who doesn't take money from Indian tribes. "He knows they're financing him not because they want him to be governor. They just want to interfere with the process so that Bustamante wins. He has to decide which side is he on, the Republicans' or Bustamante's."

McClintock called Schwarzenegger's comments "a ridiculous statement by a man who obviously hasn't paid much attention to California public affairs. ... For 20 years, I have fought to protect sovereignty on reservation lands, well before there was gaming.

"If they wanted to hurt Schwarzenegger, they would be making an independent expenditure to hurt Schwarzenegger, and Lord knows there's plenty they could hurt him with."

Assemblyman John Benoit, R-Palm Desert, a Schwarzenegger supporter, told the Riverside Press-Enterprise: "I think the idea of divide and conquer is a tried and true tactic. I can't speak for the Indians, but if there was somebody looking to help Bustamante, this would be the way to do it."

51+, now.

You're not worth my disobeying Scripture. As I've explained.

As I've explained.

You haven't 'explained' anything. All you did was play the deceiver yesterday, with your childish 'look above' game.

"There is no such 1/3 1/3 with 1/3 undecided! Last I heard, there is well over a millon extra registered Democrats over Republicans. I do agree this race is up in the air still though."

Of course, I understand that...I was referring to where the actual VOTES would come down, not actual party designation. Many of the far-Leftist votes, for example, will probably come from the Green party. They will still go to the Democrats, in the end. Just as I'm sure that a good many centrist-leaning Democrats might nonetheless prefer a moderate Republican to the disaster they've had.

You might notice that I'm not the only Christian around here who is onto your little charade.

Personally, I'm done with you.

You are, as the scripture says, "worse than an unbeliever".

I called you to account, you evaded.

Other Christians here also called you to account. You evaded.

As far as I'm concerned, you're more dangerous by far than the worst heathen on this site. Why? Because you are not only going down the wrong road yourself, but you're leading others astray as well.

Bon voyage, Dan. Hope and pray that you wake up some day.

I am truly sorry.

I am sorry that you have, evidently, developed a such a ruined conscience, over what must have been years of gradual degradation, that enables you to lie, to slander good people, and to waste the time of productive folks just as badly as a virus creator.

I am sorry that you are content to contribute nothing to this forum but your uniformly petty, contentless, vitiolic posts.

Your only tools are childish gainsaying, aping, and slander.

I am sorry you are content to be seen, rightly, as no more than a disruptor who not only doesn't even live in California, but who indeed gives his efforts to keep us enslaved to Democrat rule.

I am sorry that you ask phoney, setup questions to which you do not want the answers. I am sorry that, when people waste their time providing you with a reasonable, contentful answer, you do little (or no) more than mock, pervert, and slander.

Your last TRIPLE posting, as usual, represents a distillation of all of the above.

If I could help you, I would. But it is beyond my power. Reason, facts, rebuke, even pleading -- all have been wasted on you. All of those I've pinged could and would affirm this.

These observations are likely to prick your prodicious pride, and perhaps cause a vague stirring of your guilt. So, you'll feel constrainted to spurt, maybe again and again. And every person I've "pinged" knows what it will be.

Barring a change of heart on your part, or preemption by these observations of fact, your response to this will be nothing other than more of the same. You'll pervert and ape what I've said. You may copy, you will mock; you will do everything except admit the truth, confess, apologize, and try to make amends.

You'll do your usual "I know you are but what am I?"

I would be so happy were this not so. Sometimes I don't like being right. This is one of them, and I'd love you to prove me wrong.

But if you did, it would be the first and only change in your comporture towards me in this matter, to date. It would not change the past, though you might start undoing the damage.

So barring that change, I can't imagine ever needing to produce another response to you beyond this one.

Truly Sadly,
Dan

That goes ditto for me. I am tired of trying to reason with some of these posters incuding the one mentioned -- doesn't work and a waste of time. Came to the conclusion last night that some of these McC folks will never admit their "principled" conservative is less than "principled" because it doesn't suit their agenda!

Really thought that McC taking hundreds of thousands from a Cruz supporting tribe and then joing Cruz to trash Arnold about the debate would do it, but it didn't change the scorched earthers at all. That made me realize that nothing we could say are going to change some of these folks because they really would like Cruz to win to teach everyone else a lesson! That is convulated thinking in my book and what gave us 8 years of Clinton!

And, from what was reported last week, McClintock would be among them.

It's all so sad.

It is very sad and I don't understand how they can use the word "principled" and conservative in the same sentence.

Am really tired of this group of Republicans that keep wanting to teach the rest of us a lesson when their candidate cannot win by staying home or supporting the enemy -- it is like a bunch of spoiled brats that would take their ball and go home when they get behind because they cannot win. Some of these folks including McClintock, himself, need to grow up!

Very sad, I agree... tragic :-(

And I hate seeing how viciously Tom supporters come after you, in particular... I think it is because you are the real threat, you can show how the fabric of "principles" validating a vote for Tom is really full of holes and moral inconsistencies.

Ah, well... it'll all be over in 2 weeks and then we just cope with the consequences.

I hate to, but have to, agree with you. And I know you don't like thinking it any more than I do.

Sacrificing other people so I can feel good about myself is not a principle conservatives should embrace.

I don't change subjects -- and by the way, keep your tail out of California politics. Stay in Kentucky. We don't any RINO help.

Dan,

Are you still hanging around with a Christian name and a Bible verse defending Arnold, the man who supports abortion (the shedding of innocent blood) and supports homosexual domestic partnerships?

Please change your name or change your behavior. You really don't get that there's a problem here, do you? Charles Finney was right: "God will bless or curse this nation according to the course that Christians take in politics." Sadly, your actions bring a curse on all of us. What is most sad is you really seem out of it. Try reading Jeremiah 1:15 or Psalm 139. God loves life, children and unborn children. You dishonor God by claiming to represent him -- and opposing what God supports.

NO on-line source, but I've heard the quote before. You'd probably have to find an old magazine.

Charles Finney was a heretic, as I've observed to you before.

And, as you know, I am wholeheartedly against abortion. Schwarzenegger is almost entirely wrong on the issue.

You should find a position you can hold without lying about and slandering others. I have.

The Dems here have used this strategy before. Davis spent tons of money running ads against Riordan during the GOP primaries to get him out of the race.

I feel like I did in 2000 when I worked and worked to convince people that didn't agree with Bush that electing Gore was not an option that any of us wanted because we would get the Clintons along with Gore. It was frustrating, disgusting, and frankly depressing to try and convince some of these Freepers what they were saying was not only wrong but lies.

Some of the same folks with new screen names are doing it again with Arnold instead of Bush. Don't understand and am convinced I never will -- just have never met people that will say anything against their opponent in order to support a candidate of their choice. I really thought Republicans were above that and sad to say I was wrong.

Anyone that knows me on here from my posting will know that over the years, I never have agreed with 100% of the Bush Agenda especially Education. His goal is correct but I really disagree how to get there -- throwing more money at schools is not the answer. But I still support him for President because there are very few candidates I agree with 100% and he had the best chance to win in 2000!

What I don't understand about 2000 and this 2003 Recall is that the other side keeps raising the bar on what they expect of the frontrunner. As soon as Bush in 2000 or Arnold today goes along with what they want, they raise the bar again. And then start their attack all over again for the new level of the bar. If this is the standard for "principled" conservatives then count me out. I will stick with "realistic" conservative who wants a candidate to be conservative as they can but still be able to win. To me a DemocRAT is never an option in the voting booth because no matter what they say the Clintons still head their Party!
