SACRAMENTO - The Morongo Band of Mission Indians, an Inland tribe that already has contributed money to Democratic front-runner Cruz Bustamante's recall campaign, will begin running television ads today for conservative candidate Tom McClintock, a tribal spokeswoman said.

Critics accuse Morongo and other tribes of supporting McClintock in a veiled attempt to help Bustamante. They say by pouring money into McClintock's campaign it will hurt Arnold Schwarzenegger and help Bustamante win....

Tom McClintock - The conscience of a conservative?

September 19, 2003

In recent days, Tom McClintock, the "other Republican" in California's recall race, has accepted a million dollars spent on his behalf by a left-wing special interest group. He has claimed that a Democrat victory in the recall election would be desirable, as it would better his chances in 2006. And he has joined with Democrat Cruz Bustamante in a boycott against fellow Republican, Arnold Schwarzenegger. This is the man we're supposed to believe represents the conscience of conservatism? At the end of the day, Tom McClintock's Faustian Pact with the Left has made one thing clear - it's all about Tom McClintock....

California recall energizes, angers Democrats

Charlotte Observer ^ | 09/19/03 | JIM PUZZANGHERA

WASHINGTON - The California recall is fueling outrage among liberal activists nationwide, helping to fire up the Democratic Party's base earlier than usual heading into a presidential election, political organizers and analysts said.

Democrats are hoping that the recall will boost their chances at the polls in 2004, given that an angry party base has proven to be a potent political force in the past....

Debating Proposition 54: Let's strive for 'colorblind' ideal

San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 09-19-03 | Ward Connerly

The thought does not escape me that over the past decade or so I have been a pain in the rear to many liberals and, on occasion, to a few conservatives as well, all because I believe the American people should consider themselves one extended human family, undivided by "race," color, ethnicity, national ancestry, gender or sexual orientation....

Calif: Political Media Refuses to do its Job - 9th Circuit Isn't the Worst Player in this Drama

September 18, 2003 | Jill Stewart
Posted on 09/19/2003 7:02 AM PDT by John Jorsett

If the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals delays the recall, pity the voters who will be subjected to months of Gray Davis faking he likes church (as when he loudly pronounced Psalms as "Palm" while praying with Bill Clinton) and faking he's a good man.

But pity voters even more for having to rely on the California media, a bunch whose political coverage is, with some exceptions, best categorized as journalistic malpractice....

Good for Tom, I support a Conservative for Governor, If I cant have Tom then I say it should go back to the Liberals who made the mess, I wont let a Rino or a Rino supporter take my Party away from me. Like the Rank and file Democrats have let the Radical Liberals steal their party.
