This is an excerpt:
TAMPA -- An industrial rock band's claim that it will feature a "live suicide" onstage during a St. Petersburg gig next month has gotten the attention of the concert hall's owners and police.
The Tampa group, Hell on Earth, said on its Web site that a terminally ill member of a right-to-die group planned to commit suicide on stage during an Oct. 4 performance at the State Theater.
The volunteer, who the Web site said would not be identified until the day of the show, wanted to carry out the suicide onstage to "raise awareness for dying with dignity."
...
Hundley said Hell on Earth played the venue a couple of years ago and has been known to stage some strange stunts, such as chocolate-syrup wrestling and grinding up rats in a blender.
...
But the band shouldn't expect applause from right-to-die advocates, said David Goldberg, spokesman for the Denver-based End-of-Life Choices, formerly the Hemlock Society.

Isn't having sex with animals, alive or dead illegal? Or am I woefully uninformed?

"And to think that they charged Jim Morrison with lewd and lascivious behavior, indecent exposure and open profanity for a concert in Miami. But hey, that was 30+ years ago..."
How true. We've come along way from that.

I'm shocked enough with this. In some ways I don't want to know just how sick some are out there.

Yeah, but the difference was that GG (A born and bred Na Hampsha boy, oddly enough) was advocating and promising his own suicide on stage, not a suicide by someone else.
Alas, he never got to fulfill his promise to do so.

No, I didn't. I rarely go to shows any more. They gotta be really special for me to fork out the dough nowadays.

I frequent www.skullandbonesskateboards.com and one of the guys on the site plays bass for the band at times. the pics came from his personal website. everyone is telling him to get out or not play that night before the lawsuits come rolling in. (He's the dude with the short cropped hair - Old School Kyle as he calls himself).

I'd say stop them from grinding up rats --- but let them carry out their suicide --- but make sure they don't just do an attempt but finish themselves off good. Who needs these people? These faux-Satanic bands are all poseurs. If they were serious, they would have killed themselves in ritual sacrifice a long time ago. This was originally stated by Calvin's mom (from Calvin & Hobbes).

I don't know but someone ought to tell her. Maybe she could write this up in her next book for children OR do as you are suggesting.

While beastiality and necrophilia may or may not be legal depending on the local laws, public sex (even on stage) is almost always illegal. Someone in California was trying to argue that masturbation (at at a strip joint or in the "puppetry of the penis") is protected "speech".
