"I hear there's a bit of weather over on the east coast!" Yeah but there is some guy lives down in Arizona tell all the east coasters that Izzy is nothing to make a fuss over.
Of course that is very true...
If you live in Arizona!

I'm looking at a radial wind velocity map that uses blue for the highest going one direction from the radar site and red for the highest going the opposite direction. The red appears to be headed in your direction. There were also a couple of spots in NE raleigh that worried me a bit where there are 2 small red spots in the middle of the blue, which would be bad if it's accurate. Just be careful and keep a close eye on the conditions around you.

We've not lost power yet, thankfully. Flickered a few times, but that's it.

Feels more like a noreaster than a hurricane. That's about right, I think. When a hurricane passes to the south and west, the counter-clockwise motion of the storm will draw air down across the area from the northeast. Folks in the New York City area can look out their windows and see the darkening clouds moving across the area from the northeast.
As Isabel moves up through Virginia into western Pennsylvania, the wind direction will gradually change until it's coming out of the southeast (in the New York area) sometime tomorrow.

Lost power in Leesburg, VA (35mi WNW of DC) for 30mins from 16:30 to 17:00. Back up for now. No real sustained winds yet....showers on and off.

So, does anybody know the timing of this?
When will the worst of it hit Northern Virginia/DC?
To: Vinnie
Man, they've really got their act together, don't they?
To: Textide
Sounds alot like here except for the power situation.

After all this is over, lets hope there is never a HURRICANE MONICA. It could blow like a substained Cat 6.

I read on Weatherunderground that the eye should be over Winchester, VA at around 6am tomorrow. Would imagine N. VA will get pretty exciting from 3-6am.
