Now that the Senate has voted 93-0 to allow the Ban on Partial Birth Abortion to go forward to conference committee, the abortion lobby is cranking up its efforts to kill the bill by utilizing a campaign of lies and misinformation.
According to Christine Carmouche, spokesperson for Laptoplobbyist.com, Probably the biggest whopper came today from Senator Barbara Boxers (D-CA) testimony before the full Senate.
Boxer claimed on several occasions that when the court decided Roe, maybe 5,000 women a year died from botched abortions prior to the Roe decision. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA); however was immediately able to refute that claim by quoting Center for Disease Control and Department of Health Education and Welfare statistics that showed the number of pregnancy related deaths for the period in question stood well below 100.

Furthermore, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, one of the founders of the modern abortion movement has been refuting that number for years. "We generally emphasized the drama of the individual case, not the mass statistics, but when we spoke of the latter it was always '5,000 to 10,000 deaths a year,'" Nathanson said. However, this campaign of misinformation goes much further. Gloria Feldt, President of Planned Parenthood states in a press release dated September 15th, This legislation is the culmination of a deceptive campaign to endanger women's health and lives and mislead the public for political gain.
Its disgusting, said Christine Carmouche of Laptoplobbyist.com. If Planned Parenthood wants to speak to the subject of deceptive campaigns for political gain, then perhaps they should address the lies they are spreading in concert with their allies at NARAL.
Carmouche refers to an email appeal that NARAL sent to their entire membership over the weekend. The email includes an appeal that NARAL is asking its members to forward to Congress which states, S-3 doesn't even have an exception for when a woman's health or life is at risk. This statement on the part of NARAL is in direct contradiction to the actual language of the legislation which clearly provides an exception in cases where the mothers life is endangered.
NARAL further states in the email, A solid majority of the public opposes the bill, despite the fact that every major poll on the subject shows the anywhere from 70-80 percent of the American Public actually oppose partial birth abortion.
According to Carmouche, NARAL is in panic mode right now, their email appeal was sent out hastily and is obviously in direct response to Laptoplobbyist.coms No Delay Ban PBA drive which has succeeded in raising public awareness on this issue.
The ban on partial birth abortion passed the Senate by a vote of 64-33 on March 13, 2003. On June 4, it passed the House 282-139. However, the Senate version of bill included an amendment, proposed by Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), placing the US Senate on record as re-affirming Roe v Wade.
Because no such language existed in the House version, the bill went to conference committee to reconcile the two versions in June where it has languished due to a campaign of procedural delays on the part of Boxer and Harkin.
The fate of S-3 still hangs in the balance as Harkin as vowed to filibuster the conference report before the full Senate.

Now that the Senate has voted 93-0 to allow the Ban on Partial Birth Abortion to go forward to conference committee, the abortion lobby is cranking up its efforts to kill the bill by utilizing a campaign of lies and misinformation. It's amazing. It seems the world over, it's the same thing again and again. Liberals advance their agenda by deliberately lying to a public who doesn't know any better. Conservatives try to educate the public as to the truth. The media generally reprints the lies.

Sure seems funny, when Clintoon was president this bill came to him every year as the lefty's knew he would veto it, now that Bush has been in office over 2 years it has yet to reach his desk. I think it's time the Pubies start playing hard ball, or at least acting like they really wanted this to pass.

Boxer, Harkin, Murray, et al, want nothing less than the special right for a woman to be within legal rights (forget moral or ethical) to order the execution of an alive prenatale infant ... and by the most heinous means imaginable in the minds of demons! Boxer, Harkin, Murray, et al, want to protect the scissors to the braincase and suction tube to suck out the baby's brains, a method of slaughterin little ones that occurs more than 10,000 times per year presntly! And Boxer knows full well that the babies are alive and aware as they are yanked down out of their mother's body, yet Boxer defends this barabity as a woman's right to reproductive choice. Never, not once, has this lying ghoul, Boxer, ever shown how killing alive babies is a reproductive measure.
Are we to believe that Boxer and the democrat party defend infanticide as a means to control population? YES! Are we to believe Boxer and company defend this bloody slaughter because the number of broken women grows everyday, a number of voters who cannot bring themselves to admit they've hired a democrat protected serial killer to murder their alive child? YES! The continued slaughter of innocent, alive, viable babies has become a means for democrats to seek votes, so this evil must be protected by the democrats. When will the American people reject this party now given over to evil at every turn, a party that prowls the halls of Congress seeking what evil they may foment in order to create division and hate as a means to empower themselves at the polls?

If NARAL is correct, 20% to 30% of your friends and neighbors SUPPORT partial birth abortion, and that means that almost a third of the people in this country are total nutcases who should be locked up for their own protection.
I won't grant NARAL that large a percentage, maybe 1%, tops.

That's a good point step. Seems like a good reason (among many) not to murder your baby to begin with.

Santorum addressed this point during his testimony today. If you ask people if they support partial birth abortion; people say "Uhhh ... duhhhh ..... yeah, I guess so".
If you actually describe the procedure when you ask the question, the percentage goes down. The real demon here is public ignorance.
That's why the left doesn't like us using the term "partial birth abortion" ... it's much too descriptive.

Abortion related deaths (excluding the babies purposely killed) would have to include the drug overdoses and deaths from other forms of addiction escapism, and of course suicides of women who cannot squelch the dreams and memories. Those are the second wave of sacrificed fellow human beings these liberal democrats gladly offer for democrat political empowerment. It is time to tell the truth about these ghoulish bastards. Harkin didn't even try to hide his politicization of the holocaust he defends. But he did try to shift focus to conservatives who he assured women would take away the hard won 'rite' of abortion on demand. He actually wants the bloodletting of innocent babies to continue so he can use it as a wedge issue! [Yes, he WANTS IT TO CONTINUE, but the demonspawn will say it is a woman's choice thus he asserts it is not he who wishes it to continue. Lies compounded with more lies, creating a Gordian Knot of deceit and death. That is the prototypical democrat politician.]
