Human Relations Chief (Debbie Reyes) Draws Fire over 'Hate Group' Comment.

Fresno Mayor Alan Autry can't suspend the city's Human Relations Commission, but his administration was still frustrated Monday by the commission chairwoman who labeled a local conservative organization a "hate group."

On this forum we need to make comments that can't be used as an excuse to take us down. Even when our buds make questionable comments, we need to get them off the forum A.S.A.P.

If the two comments in the article are examples of what could be used to "take us down", we might as well close up shop right now. I don't consider either one over-the-top or even mildly inappropriate.

Now, if someone had said something like "Let's shoot anyone that throws a bagel at us", that I could see being deleted.

There's no reason for us to approve of illegal immigration or polices that are destructive to our local, regional or national communities. I agree that we should continue to voice support for sound policy on this and every other issue.

"Inflammatory hate speech" - anything that goes against the normal socialist dogma of the leftwing loonies. Certain words are a tip-off, like: Constitution, American flag, patriot, Christian values, freedom, liberty. In God We Trust is certain to qualify as 'hate speech'. So is the preamble to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights (especially the 2nd) and the Declaration of Independence. To the left, "Truth is Relative".

I refuse to define everything I post in terms that won't offend a ninny like Reyes. And if humor is going to be off limits, this is going to become a very constipated forum

By the way, I was giving Reyes the benefit of the doubt when I said she stupidly took the leftist groups's word for FR's status as a hate group. It's my opinion that she had already made that judgment prior to the threat being made, and jumped at the excuse to make it "official". But of course I have no proof of that. Think I'll get sued for posting it?

Actually, her oversight of naming us and not the group that threatened to disrupt us made her look like an idiot to all parties concerned. Even the other side thinks she's a gullible patsey.

It's about time someone spoke out against this group! I deal with these as-sholes all the time.. Constantly making death threats against my users, in fact, IMHO, it's the preferred method of intimidation on the part of FreeRepublic members. It is real sad that the FBI refuses to so much as deal with Threats in Interstate Communications of terrorist nature from these Radical Right Wing Extremists at FreeRepublic. We have taken to posting all of the personal info we can find on the ones making the threats as a result of inaction on the part of the FBI. The FBI will really be hating the day I testify to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary on how many of such death threats have gone undealt-with at the FBI.

I once had Yoplait thrown at me while in Montreal. I guess I looked too English-speaking with my camcorder and all. The yogurt cup goes sailing by in some of the stuff I taped.
