I would be happy for him to be dead. It might be better that way. If by capture, they mean his body will by ours one way or another, well then right on.

Better he dies than we take him into custody - if we capture him, he (and those Americans guarding him) will be a target for every islamanut in Iraq and the surrounding countries, trying to free him, etc. and those American troops guarding him would be in a very dangerous position.

Plus, captured alive, he would be worth more to his backers than were he dead. The whole "they can't kill me" thing going on. Also, I think many Iraqis would be intimidated that he was still alive.

I want to see him on a mortuary slab, would take the wind out of his supporters' sails to say the least.

You're right. Gertz is a good egg. He wouldn't stick his neck out like this on a lark.

There have been reports that he is wearing a suicide belt.

That's the bad part because, if true, there won't be any body left to put on display, and identification would probably have to rely on DNA.

I heard that a suicide belt actually leaves the head available for identification. Maybe he has suicide ear-muffs?

So, how do you spell "attempt"?

Or "cycle", for that matter?

And questions marks don't cost all that much more than periods - use 'em!

Maybe they're on to something. Most weeks, this report doesn't get published until Wednesday.

Geostategy Direct is DEBKA isn't it? I'm not impressed by Debka, although every once in awhile they get it right.

I tire of these reports. They always remind me of the search for Judge Crater...did he ever show up by the way.

Hey! You been peeking at my tagline?

Right, no exile. Large caliber bullet to the face is more appropriate.
