Geoff Moore is a friend of mine and fellow precinct captain in a suburb mostly white, Indian and Hispanic that has at least 3 very conservative Black precinct captains, which is way out of proportion to their numbers in the suburbs.
Geoff will probably be a delegate to the National Convention Representing the Schaumburg part of Henry Hyde's district.
I estimate 35-40% of Blacks voted for Dubya in 2000 in my precincts in the Blackest corner of the suburb.
That is not as good as the 100% of Hispanics in my corner that voted for Dubya but a lot better than my estimate that only 10% of divorced/single white women voted for Dubya.
Winning is going to be in the trenches where Geoff is ... and where I sometimes am when not in my other personality.
The Black guy lives in a white (and Indian) area and so works that area door to door. I, a white guy, live in an area more heavily Black.
We don't pander to just one group. We target everyone.
