You know, even if France and Germany thought we were wrong, they could have, as allies, given us the benefit of the doubt and helped out.
No, their shirking of responsibility has a darker motive. They hate seeing the USA in the premier power position in the world and they saw no downside to opposing us on the Iraq war. They are forever suspect.

Bush should level with the American people about the duplicity of France and, to a lesser extent, Germany. I know this would cause an uproar, but what the French have done to hurt America and Israel is unconscionable.Nah. That's not his style. France's and Germany's actions stood on their own. Anyone who was paying attention realizes it. To the rest, I don't see it making a difference. They are the kind of people Jay Leno interviews on the street, who don't even know who the Vice-President is. It's just too hard for them to think about such things.

"As long as the Palestinians are denied a state, the propaganda machine that demonizes Israel and America will roll along unchallenged in the Arab world."Yep,however even if that did happen the violence would not stop.
"For Israel to cooperate in this effort fully, it needs to feel secure."
Which is probably the main reason it won't happen.
The war on terrorism can't be one with military might alone. This war will eventually become very personal for everybody...and questions about what people actually believe are going to be asked in a very official manner.
God bless

"Islamic fanatics...want to kill Americans"
We must stop them, whatever the cost. We have no choice.
And it will never be easier to stop them than it is now.
"World War III is underway"
"you and your family are in danger."
"brainwashed fanatics have us in their sights."
You're right, Bill. Keep telling it like it is. Democrats/"Liberals"/Leftists, in politics, academia, and "journalism", are dangerously misleading the public in order to serve their own interests.

There are around the world thousands of Islamic fanatics who want to kill Americans because they believe Allah is down with that.

Make that figure hundreds of millions.

The Bush administration has the correct global view regarding terrorism but poor communications skills both inside the country and abroad. I think the above is very true. Bush's style is action, not talk, and action is what we need. Under normal circumstances, any right thinking person would understand what he is doing and has done, and would give him credit for it.
But these are not normal circumstances, because the left (which controls the press and academia) hates Bush so much they'd rather see their own country go down in flames than admit the reality of this new war and help him pursue it.
This is why we now have Democractic revisionism that somehow makes it sound as if we all hallucinated 9/11. It's not that they've forgotten, they just don't want to admit what's going on, because they fear that it might make Bush look good. And because they control the press, he's having a considerable amount of difficulty getting his message out.

the hatred many Arabs have toward us The goal is to win their respect, not a popularity contest.
The only thing that Arabs respect is raw power and violence.
Respect and increased vigilance are the reasons why we have not seen another attack since 9/11.

"The United Nations is a chaotic chamber with no sense of urgency about terrorism and no sympathy toward the U.S."
When will we ever abandon this utterly useless organization?
Why not form a useful organization that includes the 28 nations that are with us in Iraq and screw the rest of them? Who needs "friends" like Germany, France and Russia as "allies"?

Why should we care?
It seems our leaders don't care to address the obvious breach that is our borders.

I took a history class several years ago, where the instructor argued - with the assistance of texts - that The American Revolution was actually the first World War. So, if you include the Cold War, we are actually n WW V.
