Jellybean,
I like that candle tied with a red, white and blue ribbon. Wish I could have a picture like that for my cubicle.

A little story about my experience with "O Canada!" In the 1970s I was in a rock band, and we got booked in Norm Silver's Mustache Club, across from the Forum. It was quite a gig. Anyway, as we went into Canada, another band we had traveled with, and which were with our friends, gave my guitarist his pistol and said, "When we meet up with you in Maine, give it back to me." (I still don't understand why our guitarist took it). Wanting to be legal, he put it on the dashboard and when the guards asked if he had anything to declare, he said, "just this pistol!" Needless to say, it took a while to clear that border crossing!

The Dems are beneath contempt.I just heard a news blip on an Austin, Tx. radio station. Jeese Jack@$$ was holding a fundraiser at one of the local highschools today. What was he thinking? Can't get much lower that this.

Thanks. My two brothers were also within blocks. We are all well though and the truth is if this had to happen we are glad (wrong word but I don't know exactly how to put it) that we were witness to the parts that we experienced.
If you could have seen the volunteers, the regular guys, we dug with you would have no doubt about this country's strength and where it lives.

My friend's daughter's birthday is 9/11. When she turned 10 last year she cried and said "I don't think I should celebrate my birthday anymore!" I choked up. We told her that all the people who died that day would want her to celebrate her birthday - and life. I think she feels better about it today, turning 11.............

My daughter called me from the gym where she works early this morning. She had to settle for watching the ceremonies on T.V. just like I did. Neither of us could take time off from work. What upset her was the fact that nobody in the gym stopped their activities during the moments of silence or acknowledged what was going on.
She lost someone that day. His name was Ignatius Adanga. She knew him from her visits to School of American Ballet cafeteria where he was a cashier. He died in the Towers that day in the employ of the NY State Dept. of transportation. He used to lovingly call her "Stickly" because in those days, she was a puny little ballerina. Although he was not a close friend, she was shocked to hear of his passing. For anyone to ignore the importance of this day is like a slap in the face.

LOL
Yeah.. we aren't so cool about guns up here as you probably know.
I remember the first time I went in a bar in Oroville Washingon. Two men were actually packing pistols like they were wearing a belly pack. I couldn't take my eyes off them.

Words written by Thomas Jefferson:
We fight not for Glory or for Conquest. We exhibit to Mankind the remarkable Spectacle of a People attacked by unprovoked Enemies, without any Imputation or even Suspicion of Offense.
They boast of their Privileges and Civilization, and yet proffer no milder Conditions than Servitude or Death.
True in 1776; true today.
