He said Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge told him "political and cultural problems" prevent the United States from stationing the National Guard at the bordersJust what is that supposed to mean? Votes are more important? Yeah, just keep telling us to buy duct tape and plastic....

I remember a lot of people that were pretty happy that Buchanan was never in the debates in 2000. Pat's number one issue was secure borders. If Bush would have had to face him and explain why he didn't want to secure them, he might have had a spark planted that would have caused him to get serious about our borders post 09/11.
In some ways I believe Bush has been better than Buchanan would have been. When it comes to our border security, Bush has been and continues to be an utter failure. When he talks about protecting the American public, I want to puke.
Mr. President, I appreciate your actions in Afghanistan and Iraq. I am embarassed by your actions with regard to the terrorists that attack Israel, while you and Powell urge restraint from Israel in return. I am also very angry about our open borders. Put an end to it God damn it!

Has anyone here read the recent book by a guy named Posner called, I think, While America Slept?
He's been on some shows on Fox lately to promote the book which exposes the many problems that let 9/11/01 happen.

Federal officials "contributed to the murders" of those killed in the September 11 attacks by failing to tighten immigration laws, relatives of some victims said yesterday.
Bump and thanx for this ping!

We have truly lost control or our borders.
It's complete political chaos. People like Bustamonte can be in your face card carrying racist and be associated with clear racist organizations, with violent intents, yet he is running for governor of the most powerful state in the country. And the white SOB Davis is pandering and to as many criminals as possible in his last bid for revenge. Bustamonte's clear intent is to destroy our sovereignty.
This folks is clearly an assault and attack on every single American. Remember, other states to have attempted to legalized these criminals.
Damn it, Buchanan was absolutley RIGHT!

Grandstanding and agenda pushing via the 9/11 dead.
How heartwarming.

"Securing the borders" might be important, but using it as an excuse to tighten up the Mexican border is despicable. None of the hijackers came across the mexican border, and the continued assertion that closing the southern border would have prevented them is no better than the leftists who say the U.S. deserved to be attacked because of the Kyoto agreement. Both are shameless attempts to exploit a tragedy to bolster a personal agenda.

Grandstanding and agenda pushing via the 9/11 dead. How heartwarming. As usual you don't quite get it.
You don't think the dead would be cheering for absolute immigration moratoriums and common sense border control?
Sheeeet.....

The bottom line is that politicians are more concerned about their jobs and their party than the security of the nation. This has to end.
