These election dynamics has been discussed for several weeks here on FR and McClintock's chances have not increased. For all of Rush's self-proclaimed wisdom, sometimes his vision does not extend far beyond his own ego Very well stated in #146. Personally don't think Rush is being much help to Republicans all the way around with is continual trashing if you are not a "true" conservative or whatever the buzzword is today!

Why is this weekend the drop-dead weekend for Tom to get out? Why should he wait until the bitter end?
If he cops out, the Republican party is left really exposed with Arnold. Why would we want to do that?
Keep Tom in and keep everyone guessing. It's driving everyone crazy - especially on this board.

Crickets, I see.
(Ambrose has apparently taken to aping me in that notation.)

Since your "shame on you" post was addressed to me, please tell me what I said that was a physical insult, if I was actually who you are referring to. Or were you speaking to others? I've been trying to speak out against childish cheap shots on these threads, and agree with your posts. I beg your pardon. I was not directing that post at you, I just clicked on any old post to finish my thought. I was so mad I didn't pay attention to that. And yes, "shame on you" was a general comment.
I'm sorry about that, and thanks for the back-up.

PLEASE, Californians, try to work something out!!!
My guess is the California Republicans are attempting to do so with this statement of support....... The question becomes are either of the candidates listening?
Republican Voters Schwarzenegger McClintock
CA Field Poll 43% 28%
USA Survey Poll 56% 25%
CA C of C Poll 44% 23%

If have little doubt that Tom would do the right thing and withdraw if he's still way behind in the polls in a few weeks. There are not "a few weeks" left. The election is less than a month away. Waiting until the last week is crummy on Tom's part. Let's hope he does the right thing and steps down earlier ... but he doesn't seem big enough.

Your post speaks volumes and IMHO should be the one that people listen to in this debate. You are right there, know the circumstances, and laid it out very well!
Thanks for your remarks!

Oh yes, I've been scorned for my screenie and my tagline more times than I can count.
Clinton himself couldn't have planned it better.

There is an equally loud and vociferous bunch that slander Tom at every opportunity and I have never once read that they give Arnold a bad name. They are just a$$holes. As are the obnoxious Tom supporters. All of them are repeat performers. And all give FreeRepublic a bad name. Especially when insulting personal comments are made - either about the candidate or the poster.
To: My Favorite Headache
If I lived in California Tom would have my vote. Should I care?

There are not "a few weeks" left. The election is less than a month away. Three is indeed a few. He'll withdraw if he's way behind; bank on it.
To: Diddle E. Squat
There are always "spammers" on FR. But after the last two weeks, its obvious who the disruptors are and who the anti-McClintock attack dogs are.
Too many FReepers come up with the same old blame game antics, while they ignore the real trashtalking FReepers who can't find anything to do, but ridicule McClintock. Meanwhile, their guy is not geting the job done. He won't even debate his opponents. That clearly shows a lack of confidence on Arnold's part and it isn't gonna get any better for him either.
To: PhiKapMom
Ahhh, thanks, I forgot to mention him :-)

very good you mind letting field marshall try to answer his question. Empty suit? Chasing celebrities? geez give me a break. Tom is showing his lack of political savy by what he is doing. I will tell you another thing. John and Ken on KFI were singing his praises for weeks! Not now... they are calling him an idiot. Tell me ambrose if Tom handled this differently he would have...
A. Retained the support of his constituants
B. retained the support of the conservative media
C. secured a place in DC probably
D. retained support of the Republican Party
Now if he stays I have a question for you to answer....
1.Will the Republican local and national give him endorsements , Money , advertizing for anything if We fail...
2. You think he will have any voice for us as his contituants?
3. This is a team game NOT fencing. You help the party which helps your constituants tell me what you do with that?
