Wacko Saudis Condemn 'Jewish' Barbie Doll

The only plastic Malibu Barbie we know of who's Jewish is Barbra Streisand, but Saudi Arabia's thought police claim the toy is a Semitic conspiracy.

"Jewish Barbie dolls, with their revealing clothes and shameful postures, accessories and tools are a symbol of decadence to the perverted West. Let us beware of her dangers and be careful," raged the kingdom's Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.

The new campaign against Barbie, banned for more than 10 years in Saudi Arabia, coincides with the start of the school year to remind children and parents of the doll's alleged dangers, the Associated Press reported today.

Barbie was modeled after a Jew, a spokesman for the committee claimed. That must be why she's so blond and WASPish.

"It is no problem that little girls play with dolls. But these dolls should not have the developed body of a woman and wear revealing clothes," fumed Sheik Abdulla al-Merdas, a Wahhabi preacher in a Riyadh mosque.
