Sacramento Bee ^ | September 10, 2003 | Ed Fletcher
Posted on 09/10/2003 7:15 AM PDT by John Jorsett
The state Senate on Tuesday approved a Republican-led effort to demand that Gov. Gray Davis apologize for a remark he made to a voter Saturday -- that "you shouldn't be governor unless you can pronounce the name of the state." "I'm very excited and very thrilled that this could happen," Huerta, 73, said Tuesday night as she hustled off to a class at the University of Southern California to teach a new generation of activists. "It's totally out of the blue." ....

But McClintock reiterated that he is in the Oct. 7 election to stay....
