Warm and fuzzy, cute and cuddly have absolutely nothing in common with the venom spewing leftist, Janeane Garofalo. Janeane makes her living as a comedienne and as an actor, but her calling seems to be that of emulating a shrew on a bad hair day.

Janeane is now co-host of CNN's faltering Crossfire TV show, at least for a week anyway. No doubt the wisest at CNN understands their prospective audience far better than ordinary folks who just tune in. In their infinite wisdom they chose to have a spokesperson of Janeane's unique qualifications to represent the left and democrats across the nation.

The CNN bigwigs must have delved deeply into Janeane's past accomplishments and her rhetoric and understood that most of their viewers would relate to her and feel a sense of loyalty and devotion to a kindred spirit. CNN, like all big corporations, would never hire someone to host one of their television shows without testing audience reaction to their presence. CNN must know something everyone else who can think has missed.

The folks over at CNN must have looked at all the easily available sources of information on Janeane; and naturally, they would have looked at things us ordinary folks do not have easy access to. For instance, an easily obtainable bit of information about Janeane that CNN must have looked upon approvingly -- after all, they hired her -- is this quote from Janeane and reported on by Hollywood Investigator from an interview in "Buzz Magazine": "Our country is founded on a sham: our forefathers were slave-owning rich white guys who wanted it their way. So when I see the American flag, I go, 'Oh my God, you're insulting me.' That you can have a gay parade on Christopher Street in New York, with naked men and women on a float cheering, 'We're here, we're queer!' -- that's what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride."

Of course, Janeane's distaste for all things American is probably not the only thing that endeared her to the suits over at CNN. There is also her love for all things liberal. For instance, NewsMax reported that Janeane is not necessarily against the bombing and burning of people in foreign lands. She'd just rather keep it to Democratic presidential administrations....

Crossfire was a hit---when was that?--back in the 80's? The franchise is dead. Died a long time ago. Right? Does anyone watch that show anymore? Who was the lib side back when it was successful, when PJB was a Republican. Remember those days?

I watched her 2nd appearance. She apparently lost her talkingpointsmemonotes and was trying to spew from memory. Her timing was off and she sputtered her spew.

Of course, she brought her own cheering section who applauded at every venomous remark she made.

(I haven't tuned in since--my stomach can't take it. Now if she invites Brian Kilmeade for a rematch, I'd tune in to watch him, the FoxNews sports guy, cream her again in a political/intellectual debate.)

I remember. I rarely missed Crossfire back when Buchanan and that gray haired liberal used to duke it out (mid-1980s). I used to time my dinner with the show so I could watch it while I ate. It's only a pathetic shadow of what it was back then.

BTW, I always thought Janeane Garofalo was cute.

I started watching it when Novak and the ex-FBI or CIA guy, Tom ? were on. My wife and I almost never missed the show.

Can you imagine putting James Car-Vile and Paul Bug-ala on a show of that type? It had already started downhill before that, and Serpent Head and Forehead caused it to totally crater.

Haven't watched it in years.

Before Kinsely there was a gray haired guy on the left. Can't remember his name, but he would come unglued every once in awhile and was fun to watch. He died and the Kinsley stepped in.

PJB was a Republican

PJB was hired becuase he would make most of viewers think he was a typical Repubican. PJB's job was to make a poor presentation of the rights views on all subjects and lose to the Democrat. Just as Alan Colmes job is to do alousy job for the left and always lose to Hannity.

Ted Turner loved PJB. As Ted used to say, "When you want an inept right wing idiot, PJB is hard to beat."

The only decent person on the right over the years has been Robert Novak. Buchanan and others are either too soft or wrong on numerous issues (e.g., protectionism, jobs etc)
