Congratulations to my two U.S. senators, Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor of Arkansas. And to Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy. And to the whole, solid block of Democrats in the U.S. Senate.
You must be very proud. All of you played a key role in blocking the nomination of Miguel Estrada to the federal judiciary. Month after month after month. For more than two years. Until finally he gave up and withdrew his name from consideration.

While the Republicans and George Bush sat around and watched him swing in the wind.
The Republicans set around (non Active) and they wonder why? Conservatives need to take lessons on activism. Your nose pointed to the sky won't do it.

Now, Bill Frist, said it was "a shameful moment" in the history of the Senate.
So,...
Take that! You Democrats!

We've just got to get over it.
The Repub leadership never put up a fight.
No wonder Estrada pulled out.

Bill Frist, one of my state's senators, is trying to pass the buck. The truth is, the Pubbies under his leadership talked a game but opened their collars to the democrat's knife and did little but talk instead of fighting for Miguel! Sorry, I have to lay some of the blame for the way Estrada was continually treated squarely at the feet of two-faced men and women like Frist. Remember when there was talk of 'going nuclear'? Well, that's all it was, TALK! And now the democrats have discovered that the republicans in the majority will lay down when opposed, so guess what this concession to the democrat obstructionism is about to cause ... yep, more obstruction and a set jaw from the liberal pukes!
Congratulations, Frist, you hollow suit! You have succeeded in encouraging the very behavior you mouth-off about disliking.

And Frist said he has no intention of changing his (non)tactics; but hopes the Dems will see the error of their ways and change their behavior.
WHAT IS THIS GUY SMOKING?!? I never beieved I would say this, but this yahoo is WORSE than Lott!!

Karl Rove will be putting George Bush back in Crawford.

"...this yahoo is WORSE than Lott!!"Ditto.
At least Lott never even pretended to be more than a yes man. The true shame of it is that Frist was Bush's hand-picked replacement for Lott. And when Frist turned out to be as limp-wristed as Lott on getting judicial nominations through, Bush did nothing to turn up the heat. He could have made it clear to Frist that the filibuster would henceforth be verbal and in person, making it necessary for all Senators to camp out in the Senate until the crisis was resolved. No visits home, no vacations. When Congress got ready to adjourn at the end of the term, Bush could have just called them right back into emergency session. But none of these things were done. I expect not one, single conservative to be named to the higher federal bench during Bush's time in office. What a shame. What a missed opportunity to correct judicial activism and contempt for the plain meaning of the Constitution. It will go down as one of the gravest failings of this administration.

I agree with Greenberg that Bush should come right back with another Hispanic and see what excuse the Dems use to bork him/her.

That is correct. It was Rove, Bush's "Colonel House." I honestly believe George Bush won't even go to the bathroom without first raising his hand to ask Rove's permission. It has been Rove who delivered our state party machinery to Gerald Parsky. It was Rove who tried to steal the primary for Riordan. And it was Rove who saw to it that Schwarzenrino got the national party nod in the recall election. The result will be that California liberals will continue to hate Bush as they always have and California conservatives will be more and more disaffected with him. You've got to wonder why Rove has such a hypnotic hold on the President. Bush had no trouble at all turning out O'Neill or giving the deep six to Chavez. But Rove apparently can do no wrong.

First, I sent this article to Lincoln, Pryor, Clinton, Kennedy and Shumer - with the title of "Shame". "IF" they read it!! Then it was sent to Frist and the President with the title of "Concerned Americans are fighting for Estrada, why hasn't the Administration and GOP?" It's time for the 'compassionate conservatism' to STOP and for Bush to attack the RATS like he's done with terrorists. ARE YOU LISTENING ROVE?
