Excellent editorial. Won't see it or one like it anywhere else but here, of course. Wish the media would turn around and at least be "fair and balanced" in their coverage. Never happen, unfortunately. They're rapidly approaching the status of the British press who alternate between left-wing/anti-Tony Blair/anti-US hype and seamy pictures of some undressed whana-be starlet. Alas, when their unfathomable editorial prose becomes irrelevant there's always the eye candy.

I disagree with the premise (I only read the speech, though), but I think the essence of everything we do is to REMIND people of why we are even in Iraq and Afganistan. That IS our "progress," to keep the Twin Towers before the people's eyes. If we do that, we will not get caught up in a bomb blast here, or a casualty there, but focus on the VICTORY that we must achieve.

I just think at the time he had his heart in the right place. cartbilly led this country into utter malaise. How can you say his heart was in the right place?
I sat in the middle of the bed and sobbed the night he was elected. I couldn't believe our country was so deluded. He paved the way for clintbilly.
I pray daily that the country will repent and not elect one even more evil than these two.

Sean Hannity is really making Wesley Clark look pretty bad, which should tell us how weak Clark is! HA!

The economy will also be doing good by then. Of course, when the economy was doing bad, demoncrats lost anyway.

I agree. Jimmy Carter is NOT a good man. He just pretended to be one. Jimmy Carter has a streak of self-centeredness so wide that he can rationalize away the sovereign defense of this country so that he may win HIMSELF a little Noble "Peace" Prize.
Jimmy is a special kind of not-good.

Sorry --- Didn't mean to be a part of piling on. I guess that's one of the few things wrong with internet debate and discussion---one can't see or hear the person making a comment and it can therefore be misinterpreted. My apologies.

You ramble on about a never-ending war, but you don't offer any alternatives. If you're going to be an arm-chair general, you should at least have alternative solutions. From the sounds of it, you'd prefer to sit back and ignore the fact that 9/11 ever happened. Unfortunately, we already had an Administration like that, and it was because of their ignoring the bullies of the world that we begot 9/11. As of today, I haven't seen or heard of any other conservative candidates running on a third party ticket. Looks like there's a vacancy. Maybe you should throw your name in the ring since you seem to think you have all the answers.

What was Bill Clinton's plan after he blew up the asprin factory in Sudan?

You just nailed it! The rats cannot see the forest for the trees. Thank God the adults are in charge.
