Oops.
There are no weapons of mass destruction after all. That's the emerging consensus of the second team of weapons sleuths commanded by the United States in Iraq, as reported last week in the Los Angeles Times. The 1,400-member Iraq Survey Group found what the first wave of U.S. military experts and the United Nations inspectors before them discovered - nada.

Robert Scheer, but an interesting synopsis of what the "Bush Lied, People Died" crowd is up to. Wonder what will happen when the Kay report hits the fan.

The WMDs are in Syria and Iran. You think Mr. Scheer would support a war on those countries to them out?

Scheer is correct. As we have not found Saddam, it is obvious that Saddam never existed.

I find it difficult to believe anything the Scheer says. He is a very far leftist with a loooooooooong paper trail. Just ask David Horowitz.

I heard some guy on Greta Van Susteran, I think he was from the American Enterprise Institute(?), say that they were in Syria and Libya, that the White House knew it, and was trying to come up with a plan to "get them" somehow before they tip their hand.
That's what I heard.

Scheer is a long time socialist. Not just a liberal, but an actual hard socialist.

Agreed, but is there any truth to what he says? We had been hearing that the evidence of WMD's is being gathered. Are there credible reports of the opposite? Sadaam was a threat and we are better w/o him. The real problem might be that we have stopped w/o cleaning up Syria, Lebanon, and Iran. But we have to live in the real world, whatever that may turn out to be.

Was it Michael Ledeen? I just finished reading his book, THE WAR ON THE TERROR MASTERS. Anyone who thinks there's no evidence of Saddam working with terrorist groups, who thinks there weren't WMDs in Iraq, or who can't see the war against Saddam as only one step in the ongoing war on terror would benefit from reading his book.
I heard someone claim that many of the Iraqi WMDs are in the Baka Valley of Lebanon under the control of Hizbullah, and if Syria doesn't cough them up soon, we may be at war with Syria within six months. All I can say is, don't wait so long.

Okay, I'll admit it.
It has been a huge fraud to say we invaded Iraq because we knew they had WMDs and/or WMD programs. We went in because we didn't know, and they would cooperate with the UN inspectors to prove they didn't.

Wonder what will happen when the Kay report hits the fan. And this is what? And it will be published when?
I'm not being deliberately obtuse, I've truly never heard of it.
