Personally, I'm starting with "Pirates of the Caribbean."

I persuaded the wife we didn't want to see this one after some of Depp's earlier remarks.

They never denied it – not under oath. Instead, they refused to answer the straightforward question from the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1947: "Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?"

And remember, it was Senator Joe McCarthy...

Given that I don't think there is statute of limitation on scumbuckets, I say we start with Janey.

Don't forget Ed Harris (from 24 Jan 2003:

Ed Harris on Bush

Oscar nominated actor Ed Harris told a crowd of abortion rights activists in Washington Tuesday night that Bush failed to meet the criteria for the "definition of a man" because of his failure to support abortion rights.

"Being a man, I have got to say that we got this guy in the White House who thinks he is a man, who projects himself as a man because he has a certain masculinity. He's a good old boy, he used to drink, and he knows how to shoot a gun and how to drive a pickup truck. That is not the definition of a man, God dammit!" Harris said to wild applause.

That is very insensitive! Many of these folks don't look good in black. Why not hire some of those especially sensitive young men from Hollywood to design a list of a more sentivive color (mauve? cinimon? hollyhock? etc.) Then when the names of the traitorous, American-hating coc**uckers are placed on the new list they won't feel so bad.

The problem with most of these folks is that they have been pampered by brown nosers for so long that they begin to believe that they really aren't very lucky no-talent hacks. They act out of a sense of inadequacy. They know they are grossly overpaid for what they do and considering how average they are and they try to compensate by taking the roll of the underdog without really paying a tangible price. The establishment of the Persimmon)?) List will help them put their future paychecks where their mouth is.

Darn, wouldn't it be easier, faster, and shorter to compile a list of "true American actors"?

Depp may be the latest offender, but he's such a lightweight on the intellectual scale that he hardly deserves to be first.

I don’t know. He’s been in a couple of good movies. “Dead Man” comes to mind – probably one of my favorites. “What’s eating Gilbert Grape” too.

I always wondered who picked his scripts for him. Like whether he went out of his way to pick obscure crap to do, or if he just took everything that came down the pike or what...

But you really can’t think of Johnny Depp without thinking of “21 Jump Street” – with a chuckle. What a completely un-believable (and unbelievably stupid) show.

Of course, you only need to be a marginal actor to look decent next to that DeLuise kid. I always laugh when I remember Depp playing his pretty-boy tough-guy role. Ha.

Ridiculous.

It wouldn't work; your presuming that there is a mainstream group in Hollyweird that would honor the blacklist.

I mean it's time to bring back the Hollywood blacklist.

Bring it back? Every person carries a blacklist around with them at all times and not just for Hollywood. It's called a pocketbook/wallet. Don't like a product- don't buy it. Simple as that. Every time you choose one product over all the others, you have effectively boycotted all those other products. Easiest way to have a Hollywood blacklist is to simply not go and see the movie.

But you really can’t think of Johnny Depp without thinking of “21 Jump Street” – with a chuckle.

I've heard a lot of peole say that. I've never seen 21 Jump Street though. My first impression of him was from Gilbert Grape and for some reason, this is what my mind always flits to when I think about Leo DiCaprio.

Robin Williams? He's gone and visited our troops in Afghansitan and other places. What's wrong with that?

Some good names on there.

Dixie Carter. Always thought she was classy. Seemed like an authentic 'southern belle.'

And as to the 'blacklist', can I still watch 'Men In Black?' I know D'Onofrio's in the movie, but he gets killed REAL early... sort of...

Just reprinted as a refresher the "Boycott H'weirdo" list that circulated on FR about June. (Keep in mind that I didn't originate the list.) If his name is on the list, he opposed deposing Hussein and our country's and our prez' actions in Iraq.
