Well no offense guys, But if I were to boycott everything that I was told to boycott, I would be able to do nothing but sit on a bare concrete floor, naked, and twiddle my thumbs. Well you could listen to Britney while you're doing this, as AntiGuv pointed out. But I think that would change boredom to torture.
She supports the President, whatever in Hades that means.

Well, she's billed fourth - behind Michael Caine, Robert Duvall, and some other guy who's name I don't recall...

A movie to support is Fighting Temptations. It is about a church choir. It stars Beyonce and she and her group Destinys Child performed at President Bush's 2000 inauguration. And they are from Texas
Please go see her movie and support her.

He's a movie star, I'm a working stiff. By boycotting him into obscurity, he won't have that platform anymore... He works for a living. For some reason, people are interested in what he thinks, and media outlets want to print it. It has no relevance to me. For all I know my favorite baseball team has liberal democrats on it. And one of them might be dumb enough to talk about it one day. It won't change my opinion of their skills on the field, or affect my ability to enjoy it. I still watch Woody Allen movies, even though his personal life is a train wreck. What business is it of mine? Bottom line: Depp made some dumb remarks. He is not a well adjusted person. But he is a talented actor and I hope he continues to make good movies. I also hope he learns a few things about America at some point. I would talk to him about it.

May I add a new video release to your list of avoidables?: "Analyse That" with Robert De Niro. It is the worst kind of R rated, Hollyweird soft porn and filthy language plus bloody mob killings I have seen in some time. INMO If this is another example of American culture, then America is in deep trouble and pure evil is exerting its muscle big time.

By no means am I endorsing any of these flicks as I have not seen them, I am just pointing out that there is plenty out there to see without worry of enriching the pocketbooks of anti-American celebs...
To: jonalvy44
Don't plan to spend my hard earn cash on any of the movies listed. First, the actors don't inspire me to want to watch them after their latest antics in real life. Second, the cost of movies at $8.50 or $5.50 for matinee is just too darn high like the price of gas. No way, no how, no chance am I spending my precious bucks.

I want to see Once Upon a Time in Mexico. I hear the key grip is totally pro-GOP, so that should cancel out Johnny Depp.
You owe me a Dr Pepper and a monitor cleaning! LOL Funny!

"The Human Stain" WTF - Somebody made a flippin' movie about Billy Jeff?Heh heh. Hate to be serious here (and hate Ed Harris too) but I think this movie might deserve serious consideration.
Somewhere I saw Anthony Hopkins being applauded for his courage in taking a role in 'The Human Stain' -- because the movie is about a man being ruined by political correctness.
Haven't read the book, but this sounds plausible. Philip Roth has been getting more conservative as he ages. American Pastoral was about the fallout from the '60s, IIRC.

Don't watch it. Johnny Depp doesn't deserve your hard earned cash. We boycott a lot of movies like this and Hollywood will start to listen when it really begins to hurt them hard - in their pocketbooks. Boycotts would only work if large numbers of conservatives were already watching movies, and then stopped watching. Otherwise, there'd be no noticable dip in box office receipts.
But Hollywood assumes that older folks and conservatives don't much watch movies to beging with, so they ignore boycott threats.
On the uselessness of boycotts, see this article on Intellectual Conservative

But you can go see Lord of the Rings, even though it has more anti-Americans and Homosexuals than any other movie because a freeper told you you should.

I find it very easy to boycott ALL movies. No going to theatres or rentals. If you really must, they are on tv after awhile

Support with your bucks what you want to support. It's, for the time being, a free country for the most part

agree...I just feel many in Hollywood are no longer deserving of our support...

So the actions of conservatives in calling ABC had no effect on their decision to cancel the Garofalo sitcom?
Glover and MCI?
It's all about awareness. For each American who is made aware of what is happening on the Hollywood scene, that's one less consumer they so desperately need.
I disagree. While many of the mis-informed will still frequeent any movie, slowly we are making an impact.

"I would join the boycott of Hollywood leftists, except then I'd be stuck in a room listening to nothing but Britney Spears the rest of my life.... "
After the MTV VMA's, you can safely say she's worth boycotting too...

Where else do you hear someone on television thanking God for what they have? They never thank God for what they have. They thank God after they score a touchdown or outbox their opponent.
I've yet to see an athlete thank God after he fumbled the ball or lost a boxing match. God sure is a fickle sports fan.
