BUSTAMANTE'S M.E.C.H.A ORGANIZATION AT FULLERTON COLLEGE , A TRUE STORY.....

Dear friends ,

The fact is that Cruz Bustamante refuses to renounce the college club organization MECHA , a club in which he was an active member of during his school days .

For those who do not know of this organization , it is a Statewide club on community colleges and campuses all over the state of California which literally promotes the segregation and separation of Peoples of Mexican descent from the rest of the community . It is well documented that they promote a plan they cal ' Reqonquista ' , a plan in which they promote for the separation from the Union South West United States as a Mexican commonwealth ; a literal breahking away from the U.S.

Here is my true personal experience of MECHA on my College campus , Fullerton College in Orange County California .

After I complained to the student affairs offive about a MECHA subsidiary club's radical posters on the college lunch patio , the chair of thestudent affairs office told me that MECHA had been kicked of the campus , forbidden for a period of time from conducting their club activity because of racist activity on their part . They were banned for such thing as the following : During a MECHA event , one of their people got up and gave a speech in which he said , " All whitesare assholes ! " . Tjhis is true , and anyone can call Fullerton Colege and ask for the student newspaper in which this was originally reported then at the time .

MECHA has two connected organizations on campus that work hand in glove together with MECHA : 1) A subsidiary club on campus called ' Indingenous people's Club ' , and 2) the Chicano studies program building / office . I complained to the student affiars office about 'Indingenous People's ' club's radical posters put up on the college's lunch patio by their members toward the end of Spring semester 1998 . One such banner was painted in tempera paint with a Mexican bandit with two full bullet belts around his chest , with the depicted bandit holding a shotgun saying , ' Zapatistas - Out friends , your enemies ' . After I complianed to student affairs about this poster , the chair of student affairs came back sometime later to me and told me she complained to the club person responsible , and asked that person . " What did you mean by the poster ? "

The other hand in glove organization working with MECHA is the Chicano studies program / office . At that same time I complained about ' Indigenous People's ' club , the Chicano studies people put a large PRINTED poster on their window office taht said in big bold printed letters , " BROWN POWER " . In the poster were words congradulating a few students graduating who made it to Berkeley University . I called the Chicano studies program office and comlianed about the poster . I said to the young man who answered that if the poster said ' White Power ' , the poster would be racist and considered ' Neo - Nazis '. He denied that it was a legitimate comparison , and hung up , arrogantly refusing to accept that the poster was inappropriate . I then complained to the student affairs office about the poster , and the Chicano studies program were made to take the poster down from the window because of my complaint . To think it was allowed to stay up for any amount of time at all was beyond belief .

So there you have it . True story , lock stock , and Bustamante .

Yours Truly , Cousinkoala

We will fight them on the beaches, on the landing fields and in the hallways and we will NEVER surrender.

Don't know if you saw the L.A. Times this morning; um, that should be the Los Bustamentes Times, rather.

They had a puff piece on little Cruzie growing up in the heartland. So sweet and flowery that I nearly changed my vote; what an angel the man is! [Take an anti-nausea pill now.]

Right below the continued piece of the article, on page 983, LOL, at the bottom of the page, was a leetle teeny article on how Mecha is NOT racist! Sure, their founding statement is a little questionable, but no one thinks about THAT any more. We are just trying to make sure Chicanos are welcome at universities.

Of course, Arnold's peccadillos are all over the paper. I think the Times should have to call themselves an opinion journal; they are too slanted to even be printed on newsprint.

We had a mecha club at our high school in Santa Cruz County, CA. Parents complained so they changed the name from mecha to Mariners Unidos. Same club, just a name change.

BROWN POWER

No surprises here. Obviously no member of the group had yet taken an antro class or if they did they realized that a poster saying "WHITE POWER" would probably not convey their aims properly.

Now that whites have now become a minority in Kalifornia, can they start their own exclusivist, racist clubs?

Thanks for this link, Mom... definitely worthy of a "bump." Not even three weeks at FJC, and I feel that I've seen it all! The school allows everyone the right to free speech and expression. It's amazing what they DON'T allow. Of course, everyone smokes, parking is still atrocious, lines are long, textbooks are expensive (Mine? Nearly $400), and vending machines eat your money.

This past week was "Club Week," and I saw the Key Club booth, the Feminism table, Korean-American Students, MEChA, and even a cosmetology club offering on-the-spot haircuts. However, the most interesting were the ever-present political tables (which reminds me, thanks, Mr. Davis, for the tuition hike up to $18 a unit).

The garbage at the LaRouche table was amazing... from Nazis and the Holocaust to modern day Palestine, they had lies about it all. I just can't get enough of those cult organizations! I won't even mention their thoughts on 9/11.

As for MEChA; "The rest of the yearning masses would die to be Americans for you!"

Then, I found a tiny table where a single man sat unnoticed to register students to vote. Needless to say, I did just that. All by myself!

Fresh out of high school, barely eighteen, and a registered "Independent." Ahh, I can't wait to vote out our friend Gray.

Goodbye, Gray, and be gone, Bustamante! God Bless America!

Congratulations on registering to vote but I'd like to point out a couple of things to you. (Humor me, kid, I'm old!)

Did you register as a member of the American Independent Party or did you check the box for I Decline To State a Political Party?

Political Party - No person shall be entitled to vote the ballot of any political party unless he or she has registered with that party. However, if a voter has declined to state a political party affiliation, and the political party permits it, the unaffiliated voter may vote in the party's primary election.
Some of the information they ask for is optional and since voter registration cards are part of the public records, I always leave those lines blank. For instance:

CA Driver's License or CA ID Card Number - No person shall be denied the right to register because of his or her failure to furnish a California driver's license or California identification card number. (Optional) That's my favorite one! Voter fraud, anyone?

Telephone - Please include area code. The number is printed in precincts on election day. (Optional) I always use my cell phone number because the phone is never on unless I am making a call.

E-mail Address - (Optional)

OK, thanks for reading. :-)
