FR has given me a voice
For my opinion
For my politicle veiw
Its given me freinds i otherwise would have never met
Its shown me just how many enemies of our country we have right inside our own borders !
But i think the most important thing is that my children read and understand most of what is happening to this country through the veiws of the many intellectual Freepers right here on this site !
And i thank you all!

With FReeper input from a hundred thousand posts, I have mercilessly kicked a thousand leftist butts. FR is the Infozilla of conservatism.

Heh. Yes. When you mess up a post you're usually stuck unless an Admin Moderator takes SERIOUS pity on you, or you committed such an egregious typo that it merits deleting for other reasons. Mess up a title, and you can usually get it fixed. ;-) Whew!

Free Republic has given me a lot of news from many sources I wouldn't have gotten on my own.
Free Republic gave me a lot of news on 9/11 when the major news websites were overloaded and inaccessible.
FR has helped me improve my writing skills.
FR got me to protest publicly for the first time in my life (counter-protesting the 'peace' rally in Raleigh earlier this year) and meet some very nice, friendly, funny, likeminded people.
Free Republic has made me laugh with some of the outrageously funny and clever things said by FReepers. There are some truly talented writers with great comedic timing on FR. Also, there are people here from all walks of life, and it's great to be around people with diverse backgrounds, but with the same or similar principles.
On the downside, FR has shown me that the far-right kooks are exactly the same as the far-left kooks in temperament and M.O. They're the same sort of people; only the issues are different. There are some true nutcases here--which has further confirmed my theory that being older doesn't necessarily make one any smarter. There are also some truly hateful people here, people I wouldn't give the time of day to in real life.
But on balance, the good far outweighs the bad. I even learn positive things from the bad--such as I don't have to talk to them if I don't want to and I can just concentrate on the good. And there's at least one FReeper I have in mind that I absolutely detested at first, but we've been able to carry on disagreeing over certain things, but in a cordial and mature manner; that's always a plus, when you can disagree and not go apesh**. So the bad has taught me to control my temper. LOL! It doesn't always work, but I'm getting better at it.

Free Republic has convinced me that I am not the only rational person on the planet. It has also made it clear to me that I am not always as rational as I percieve my self to be.
Freepers are compassionate and kind, but they won't kiss your donkey to get along with you.
I love Free Republic because they love what I love- THe Good Ol' USA and the Constitution and Bill of rights as written in the original english-not the twisted lingo of the perverts of the legal professions version.
I didn't come here expecting Free Republic to do something for me.

The Admin Moderators are generally fair to me. They have, on occasion, removed a post I immediately regretted after posting, including the time I posted something I had intended to FReepmail (that's always embarrassing, LOL!).

Free Republic has taught me...
...that I must believe in myself, my country, and my beliefs.
...that anything is worth fighting for if you believe it in your heart.
...that friends can be made in the strangest places.
...that doing what you love is being who you are.
...that no human being is infallable.
...that criticism is constructive, not degrading.
...that what you do is your fault, so take responsibility like an adult.
...that knowing the enemy is half the battle.
...that stupid people are powerful if they come in large numbers.
...that stupid people alone are just, well, stupid.
...that being weird makes you special, not freaky.
...that cleverness, seriousness, humor, and the meaning to life can all be found in an itty bitty tag.
...that there is intelligent life on Earth, or at least the internet.
...that tiny vanities of wisdom make 5+year lurkers sign up when nothing else has.
...that there are such things as "sane asylums".
...that people will read tons of articles on one subject so they can post that perfect picture.
...that the things people dare not utter on the forum can be found on their profile.
...that lightning is the most powerful weapon on earth.
...that you must choose your enemies wisely, not just your friends.
...that if the perfect phrase cannot be found, a smiling icon will do.
...that "til death do we part" can be used on anything from marriage to hamsters to belt-fed weapons.
...that SpongeBob is more popular than anyone ever imagined.
...that abbreviations are the way to go, whether you are LOL or JK.
...that pinging yourself to an article is broadcasting the fact that you are a newbie.
...that a moose and cheese are powerful things, esp. when around your sister.
...that if you do not post an Ann Coulter pic on an Ann Coulter thread you started, you are evil.
...that the people who are the most insane are the most remembered, most charished, and most loved of all.
...that everyone can find a place in the world.
...that you can close your eyes, cross your arms, turn around, and fall back with full confidence into the arms of people you have never met in your lifetime. And they will catch you. Every time.
Bump...

Your post is beautiful, it's really beautiful. I know it's about FR, but its about so much more, it's really got the true truth of life in it.

I bought a high-backed leather exec chair for my son to freep in (<$140, sale).
FR has made me stop telling my son to 'stop reading all that weird political sh!t,' get off of the computer and get a life.
Now that I'm registered, I read all the weird (and supportive) political sh!t, can't get away from the computer long enough to make dinner, my son is starving, and I can't get my schoolwork done because I've freeped so long my eyes are tired and I have carpal tunnel.
How many other FReepers freep from 2 computers in adjacent rooms and yell back and forth to each other about some post they just read?
Thanks FR, in addition to making it impossible for me to win 'Mommie of the Year,' i have become the thorn in the side of every leftie academic i run into at school. I have found my purpose in life.

Yeah. The title was as I copied and pasted it. See all the other posts that commented on it as I did, including #67:

Amazing! What's rosacia? I had rosacea, but I cured it the natural way.
FR has been the bright light in my tunnel after eight years of misery when the Felon and RATS were in control. I can't wait to log on every day and read the truth, not the prevarications, lies and untruths seen daily in the media--all supplied by such leftist tripe dealers as AP, Gannett, USA Today, Time, Newsweek and ABCCNNNBSCBSMSNBC.
Thanks by the thousand to Mr. Robinson and his loyal crew and to all you genial Freepers!
