GLBTQA: The new trend (Report from Campus, Washington University, St. Louis, MO)
Yours Truly | August 28, 2003 | Yours Truly

I read the student handbook published by the Student Union, called bearings (I'd provide the link to the online version, but it's outdated, so it'd be pointless), and found this gem:

The campus organization called Spectrum Alliance is the GLBTQA (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and Allied) organization for the school [at least it hasn't been uber-PC'ed by swapping G with L, as it has happened in other universities (LGBT instead of GLBT)].

GLBTQA??? What the heck??? How many groups are they going to include???

Let's recap:

At first, it was GL (gay and lesbian, homosexual men and women, respectively) (I know that the definitions are already known, but I'm posting them for the sake of the discussion).

Then, GLB (gay, lesbian and bisexual: men and women who are sexually attracted to both sexes)

Then, GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered: People who has chosen to live as members of the other sex, either by psychological choice, or by both psychological and physical choice by means of a sex change operation: Men living as women or women living as men).

Then, it was GLBTQ (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning: People who, although heterosexual in practice, have doubts about their sexuality by means of a sudden attraction to a person of the same sex).

And now, to celebrate inclusiveness, we have GLBTQA [gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning and allied: Heterosexual people who accept "alternative lifestyles" as natural (can't say homosexualism, because other not all of the former behaviors are strictly homosexual)]

Holy crap!!!

What's next, GLBTQAO (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, allied and opponent), so as to include the whole humanity in the question of homosexuality???

DAMN!!!

Liberals sure know how to be "inclusive" and "non-discriminating".

GL/GLB/GLBT/GLBTQ/GLBTQA/GLBTQAO

Whatever. They are still queers and faggots. They still spread a disease, the consequence of which is death. They still violate Judeo-Christian morality standards.

They's trying to make a silk purse outta a sow's ear.

Wash U, eh?? (I live in St. L Area.) Too bad! Another fine institution that I doubt will get any of my $$ for my kids education. Grosses me out. Sorry -- I just can't get past the fact that they see that lifestyle as "normal." Do they have a society for Wizards and Witches as well? Argh!
