MSNBC had an item on NEW rumblings about HRC running in 2004.. It was in conjunction with more on Wes Clark also getting serious about a run..Mentioned something about a 'high level mtg' that the OTHER Dem candidates were informed of.... Ickes has formed a 'soft money group' which could benefit HRC, and, again, some high level mtg about the possibility of her running. ..Nachman and Bill Press will be discussing this SOON on msnbc...tune in NOW.

Think about this REAL good. Hitlery simply has no charm, no wit, no brains, is dictatorial and has too many strikes against her which would bring out every damn last anti-Hillary voter there is. It would be a disaster for the entire party with people voting a straight Republican ticket, "to make sure".

Hillary is NOT going to run in 2004. This meeting is only a bunch of Democrats BEGGING her to do so, because they know that Howard Dean is going to drag them into a major defeat, with a possible fillabuster-proof Senate majority going to the Republicans.

Hillary is not concerned, it is the Democrat Party Establishment that is concerned. She will not run against Bush because she has too much to lose. They create the most media buzz by suggesting that she is considering it, so that the media can do polling about a possible outcome against Bush. Someone will do a poll saying Hillary can beat Bush, but she will ignore it and keep her word about her Senate term.

Dean has the nomination in the bag right now, and that means that unless he suffers a timely accident, Terry McAuliffe is history, which would be par for the course for the Clintons, whose friends never survive long anyway. Hillary is not running, and if anything, she is only nailing down Dean's nomination, so that the seat is open for her in 2008.

Dean campaigns more liberal than Hillary would. But I'm not nearly as scared of a Dean presidency as a Hillary presidency. Dean I think is pandering to the left and he would move to the middle. He'd still be a libber, but Hillary, well, she'll run middle and govern hard core left/fascist.

However .. I wonder what this will do to Dean - will he feel betrayed (Hillary has been advising him on his campaign)?? Will Dean be so angry - he will split the party over it - we can only hope the dems will self-destruct all the sooner.

Dean will NOT submit to The Queen under any circumstances. He owes the Clintons nothing. He became governor of Vermont by a fluke before Bill CLinton was ever elected president, and was still governor when the 'Toons were finally sent packing. And he's already said he'll clean house at the DNC at the first possible moment if he becomes their candidate.

Yah, we speculated on that yesterday (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/971586/posts) and I think that she will probably be unrealistic enough to think she is polling better than she is. Moreover, she just can't risk Dean getting the nomination and "capturing" the party.

I think 3 and 4 are right. However, I believe a Dean disaster in 2004 is in Hillary's best interest. Also, a loss to Bush in 2004 would not necessarily help her in 2008. Remember, she will not be able to run a "silent" campaign for the presidency, like she did in the NY Senate race. A campaign for the presidency will significantly raise her negatives across the country. Also, the more time she can put between 9/11 and her run for the presidency, the better. She can only win if Americans begin to forget and take their focus off of national security. In this sense, I think no major terrorist attacks in a Bush 2nd term would actually help Hillary.

Again, just my view. I just can't see how it would benefit Hillary to run now, even with the Democrat candidates facing disaster. I don't believe she would fare any better right now.
