Not really. Nor do we think Republicans Tom McClintock and Peter Ueberroth should get out of the race. At least not yet.

Well, maybe Mr. Ueberroth should. His blandness and lack of energy will not do.

The Democrats already have their Gray candidate. What's more, Mr. Ueberroth doesn't seem to be much more specific than Arnold Schwarzenegger, the frontrunner among Republicans currently in the race. But, then again, Mr. Ueberroth's nonpartisan pitch overrides his token Republicanism. For example, he's the only Republican in the race to oppose Proposition 187, the 1994 initiative barring state benefits to illegal aliens. Does this country-club Republican think he'll get Latino voters away from Democratic Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante? Indeed, in this crazy election, Mr. Ueberroth could end up with more Democrats and independent voters than Republicans.

I think it's time the voters stepped down. Hear me out. The situation California is in today has been brought to us by--you guessed it!, voters.

Popularity contests combined with promises of huge give-aways have rendered the average voter incapable of chosing a candidate without having one eye on the prize at all times.

This has led to hugh budgets without regard to cost to the taxpayer or the economy and the slow ascent toward slavery that results when it's "other people's" money that is being spent (typed with one hand over the grandchildren's eyes).

Combine this with state senators and legislators who couldn't give a frig about the concept of limited government and you get the disaster we're facing here in Cali and would be soon facing nationally were Gore 'popularly' elected. Thank God for the Electoral College.

The time for us to head off future disasters is now. We should only be asked to vote for statesmen, captains of industry, successful businessmen and women, constitutional scholars, etc. to represent us as 'electors' in making the final decision to put people in all state elective offices.

No sooner than people discovered they could vote themselves goodies from the public treasury, they began to do so. I've met the enemy, and it is the popular vote.

Go Arnold, go Tom, onward Blitzen, and Dasher and Dancer.

I was sorry when RINOs like Matt Fong, Dan Lungren and Tom Campbell were nominated.

I was really sorry when a corrupt lying "win at any cost" man named William Jefferson Blythe Clinton became president. I was shocked and amazed that Democrats dropped all pretense of morality or principle because Clinton was popular and able to win. I am even more shocked that people are now doing the same with Ahnold.

I've always wondered how our side would act if "the shoe were on the other foot". Now I know.

Is having even a 10% Rep in the chair better then having a 100% D ?

Since you think Fong, Lungren and Campbell are RION's also I was just wondering on your estimate of Republican voters in CA who are not RINO's ?

My guess is that without all the people you consider RINO that you are a tiny minority and deserving of the lack of power you possess. Perhaps you should consider spliting off into a conservative party of purists.

IMHO the Repubs are making a big mistake by even running. Should one win the Dem legislature won't allow any changes.
The Repubs will look ineffective, and people will just feel there isn't any difference between partys.

Rather, I think the Repubs should let Kalifornia exist as a Nationwide example of Dem party rule.

Until or if the people of CA are feedup enought with the Dems and are ready to make a clean sweep including the Legislature let them serve as a example.

Reading about a bunch of bills that did not go anywhere is not my idea of productive use of time -

I take it you are not able to list just a few things that we should be thankfull he was there for.

I'm sure that such an ardent supporter like you would have at least his major 5 accomplishments on the tip of your tounge rather then the arrogant - "go read his speaches"

Your points are well taken, but the infatuation with Rnold continues. Meanwhile, he offers NO specifics and NO details on his economic recovery plan for California. Rnold says, this isn't the time to talk about such things and besides, the people aren't interested in specifics or details. LOL
