Heard this twice, first on the Hannity show, then a local talk show host (liberal) replayed it for comments. Most comments were favorable.

Hey Cali! He may be RINO but this is as good as it gets. This is the best you deserve at this point in time. If you want to elect a Ronald Reagan type than build for it. But like I said, Arnold is the best man who is electable.

Just look at all the business leaders who've thrown in with him. They finally see a glimmer of hope to dig Cali out of the pit that Grey Davis and RATS have dug you into.

Illegal immigration is destroying this state. Arnold will do nothing to change that.

Forgive my naivety, but what exactly is a "RINO"?

IMO:

McClintock is the most conservative, but Arnold is more conservative than he's been given credit for and I support him on almost all of the issues addressed in the radio interview.

We need a Republican, and if Arnold stays true to the policies he endorsed today, he's our best bet for California.

Regardless of McClintock's conservative orthodoxy,

he does NOT have the capacity to begin to build 1/20th Arnold's public personna resources.

It's not there in him, in his person, in his nature. And it's CERTAINLY NOT there in terms of the public awareness and perceptions of the electorate.

WISHING will not make it so.

"I believe in prayer in school and I think it should be up to the schools, you know, what religion they belong and what direction they want to go"

I didn't know public schools each had a religion they belong to. This is a very deceptive answer, that has no real meaning, since the State has no control over private schools.

No doubt the guy's a RINO, but I've seen RINOs far worst than this after reviewing his positions -- IF they are to believed.

WHERE HAVE WE HEARD THIS BEFORE? It sound VERY familar...

--He is "pro-choice" but opposes the late-stage procedures described as "partial-birth" abortions. Asked whether he is in favor of parental notification when minors seek abortions, he replied, "But in some cases when there is abuse in the family or problems in the family, then the courts should decide."
--"I do support domestic partnerships."
--Said he supports a ban on assault weapons, trigger locks under some circumstances and the Brady Bill, which requires background checks on gun purchasers. "I feel that it's important to have, and also I would like to close the loophole of the gun shows"
--"I believe in prayer in school and I think it should be up to the schools, you know, what direction they want to go"
--Said companies should not be permitted to drill for oil off California's coast. "I think that we should stop the oil drilling"
--Indicated support for some form of vouchers. "With No Child Left Behind Act that President Bush has put forward you have a chance that if your school has failed that you can go and take your child to another school," he said. "I believe in that."
--Said he had not yet taken a position on affirmative action
--Said drug legalization was "a bad idea" but he supported legalized medicinal marijuana.
--Indicated support for allowing undocumented immigrants already in the country to remain here
--Services for illegal immigrants was a "complicated issue"
--"Now we have to move forward with the whole thing and to look at it, what we're going to do with all the people that are undocumented immigrants here. What should we do? Should we have them to stay here, which I think is the right way to do, but how do you then include them in our society, how do you make it official, how do you make it legal?"
--Refused to take a pledge not to raise taxes, but pledged to raise them only if there was an "emergency

The Austrian has done more against the illegal immigrant agenda than most Repubs in office (although not like the great Tom Tancredo, but what's McNaderPeroClintock done about it?), He will cut many of the socialist programs that are killing ReCallifornia, and will support the President for 04. He can draw a fair number of independent hispanics to the Repub party without selling out. Contrary to myth, most hispanics are not part of the illegal immigrant agenda. BustaMECHA will add to the fiscal problem, he will be a champion for the Atzlan movement, and will rally the hispanic vote for the demoncrat party.

If this were a recall of a CA State Senate or Congress or Governor of a state that didn't involve much of the illegal immigrant agenda, I would support someone like McClintock over someone like Arnold because it would not damage the conservative cause that much if the Arnold like person lost. There are other RINO's to destroy by not voting for them or voting for a third party (i.e. CONSTITUTION PARTY).

The question, is wether or not voting for McClintock and putting Cruz in that powerful of a postion is worth punishing a RINO?

I would have to say NO

Further to this issue, we can get rid of the worst RINO's in US Congress like Arlen Specter, and any RINO's in State Legistlatures, but we must leave the Presidency and the US Senate in R control, at least for the judicial nominees.

I like a lot; I dislike about 30% of it. First thing to spring to mind is racial preferences (so-called "affirmative action"). I can sorta see the reluctance on Prop 54 .... but racial preferences are an easy "No way" call.

If he is a RINO, at least he'll be able to
BUST the Democrat Hold on California!

What good is McClintock???

He may say the "right" things, but
obviously, he has NO understanding of
the **HILLARY THREAT** facing our nation.

If California stays in Democrat Hands,
the Presidency may go that way as well.

Saying the right things is NOT the same
thing as DOING the right thing.

Do the RIGHT thing, McClintock:

DROP
OUT!!!!

(or we might think you're a stooge
just like Simon....)
