I like a lot; I dislike about 30% of it. First thing to spring to mind is racial preferences (so-called "affirmative action"). I can sorta see the reluctance on Prop 54 .... but racial preferences are an easy "No way" call.

"But of course, his supporters don't want him to deal. Like Hitler moving phantom armies on the map as the Russians swarmed over Berlin, they've got victory in their grasp. Oh brother.'

Every once I awhile I see a post that is so concise and witty I just gotta think, "dang wish I'd wrote that." You my friend have just written one of those!

Worse than that -- he's to the left of the RATS.

Come on. Where is he to the left of Davis or Bustamante? Call him "not conservative enough" for you, but don't go into hyperbole.

But where does McClintock stands on both legal and illegal immigration? His official site is mute on this critical issue. I sure would like to know.

Suffice it to say that no candidate with a chance of winning has a more conservative stance on illegal immigration than Tom. If that's your big issue, he's probably your man.

This guy is a RINO. Let's hope McClintock starts building momentum.

Exactly!

Unfortunately, it's down to one simple choice, you can have Arnold or you can have Bustamante...your choice.

"But they are going to make sure that Bustemante does"

Hey, I can't wait for Bustamante to win. I've waited long enough for Mexifornia to implode. Might as well expedite the process and get Civil War II going.

Grey or Busta or Terminator, what difference does it make
anymore. The marxists have used their gov'munt re-education camps to seal the fate of States like California, Florida and New York. Lets just lock'n'load and get it over with!

Mostly, no, he isn't ... about 46%, depending on your "scoring" of the spectrum of political issues. As a California voter, I've given up on social issues -- my wife and I are resigned to sending our progeny to private schools, for example, at great added cost -- and the first part of the Democrat ramparts that I want stormed is the fiscal one. If Tom can't win (as things appear in early October), I'll go with Arnold (if he CAN win) ... but it's with reservations!

"That's for sure. The Democrats from the East (New York), moved out here to California for the weather, then ruined the state with their Eastern socialism."

Wow...that's exactly what we all used to say about Californians when I lived in Oregon.

""This guy is a RINO. Let's hope McClintock starts building momentum.""

That wasn't me that said that.

I've heard of no write in section to this election, but I don't know for sure. This will be my first California election.

You are precisely right.

In any case, it is shortsighted to consider only political philosophy Arnold brings a unique set of abilities that may actually fix the mess.

Moreover, CA is necessary for the clintons to retake the white house. . If Arnold does not win, the recall could very well be, with the splintering of the right, the opening round of '92 redux.

Think 'clinton 2' befote voting 'arnold-no.'

"I would never stand in the way of any child going to school, whether he or she is here legally or illegally, it does not matter."

- Arnold Schwarzenegger, October 2002

I believe that was also a USSC ruling in 1982, and I don't recall Reagan making it a big issue back then.

No "Libertarian" would be caught dead supporting Prop. 49, opposing Prop 54., or supporting free schooling for illegal aliens.

The Libertarian Party of California
Executive Committee Meeting
Saturday July 23, 1994

PROP 187: Illegal Aliens Ineligibility for Public Services Verification and Reporting Initiative. The supporters of this initiative approached us before and asked for our support, and we elected to oppose it instead.

Did he claim to be on both sides of the issue?

Screw RINOs. If this place is going to go to hell, then let's get it over with. That's why I would support Bustamante if McClintock were to exit the race. Voting for a RINO like Ahnold is like the frog that boiled slowly to the death. The Frog suddenly tossed into boiling water will at least attempt to jump out!

Observe the mind, of one of the firmest of Tom's supporters.

Tom's supporters are probably doing him more harm than good.
