That's why I would support Bustamante if McClintock were to exit the race.

Whoa.

Put the gun down and back away from the voting booth.

You're wasting your "breath." See, the anti-McClintock cowards don't have the stomach for a campaign, so they throw in with the most obvious immediate choice. Then they denigrate the experienced conservative candidate and his supporters, using the Democrat favorite form of debate, the ad hominem argument. You won't get a reasoned explanation for why they won't give McClintock a chance, and THEN close ranks behind Arnold if the numbers aren't there (like those of us who are realists but who don't feel inclined to surrender as soon as the first shot is fired). You just get a lot of name-calling and hurling of impure motives at the McClintock camp.

Roger that.

With forty-one days to D-Day, with Arnold Schwarzenegger polling 48 to Cruz 29, it's time to keep the boats headed in--not attempt a radical turn to starboard and miss the beach.

Arnold, starring as the RINOnater!

'Yah, let dem to stay, yah. Yah, here already dey are, yah. Yah, it is right way to do, yah.'

Oh, brother. He's going to RINOnate California's remaining taxpayers. Judgement Day is here, but not for the illegals.

It's Judgement Day for the taxpayers, 'yah'. Prepare for the final conflagration.

This ain't gonna be pretty.

What has Arnold done for the taxpayers of California?

Given a solid number of voters hope, which is more than your boy has done after two decades of slurping at the public trough as a legislator without any real job.

Cheers, CP

Anyone who thinks that it's no big deal to help usher in Bustamante must be perfectly happy with Davis.

Such a person should just vote "no" on the recall and be done with it.

services for illegal immigrants was a complicated issue that was mostly up to the federal government.

That's an inadequate response, since the FedGov has been willful part of the problem with Illegals, not part of the solution.

The Austrian has done more against the illegal immigrant agenda than most Repubs in office (although not like the great Tom Tancredo, but what's McNaderPeroClintock done about it?), He will cut many of the socialist programs that are killing ReCallifornia, and will support the President for 04. He can draw a fair number of independent hispanics to the Repub party without selling out. Contrary to myth, most hispanics are not part of the illegal immigrant agenda. BustaMECHA will add to the fiscal problem, he will be a champion for the Atzlan movement, and will rally the hispanic vote for the demoncrat party.

If this were a recall of a CA State Senate or Congress or Governor of a state that didn't involve much of the illegal immigrant agenda, I would support someone like McClintock over someone like Arnold because it would not damage the conservative cause that much if the Arnold like person lost. There are other RINO's to destroy by not voting for them or voting for a third party (i.e. CONSTITUTION PARTY).

The question, is wether or not voting for McClintock and putting Cruz in that powerful of a postion is worth punishing a RINO?

I would have to say NO

Further to this issue, we can get rid of the worst RINO's in US Congress like Arlen Specter, and any RINO's in State Legistlatures, but we must leave the Presidency and the US Senate in R control, at least for the judicial nominees.

I agree with you that Arnold may be as good a choice as is electable right now (as a McClintock fan I say that with a heavy heart) -- but what on earth do you mean "This is the best you deserve at this point in time"?? Gee, thanks a whole bunch. Was that, uh, meant to be helpful in any way?

Have you seen the map of all the red counties that went for Simon? It geographically overwhelmed the blue areas, looking much like Bush's map. Unfortunately the people who take handouts in the blue cities (L.A. and S.F.) were numerically enough to get by.

Thank you! It's about time somebody said it.

My ideology is more in line with McClintock, but now, even if he were the only candidate, I would have difficulty voting for him. The man is clearly much more interested in himself then in the future of California. NO politician, who is more interested in himself then his state deserves office.

Allowing Arnold's "socialism lite" only postpones the day of reckoning.

You're exactly right.

You may be on to something here. I can't speak to the specifics of what you propose but if we had some sort of a flat tax that would ensure the illegals and welfare dependents would have to pay their fair share of taxes. They won't like that and would probably move elsewhere. There is no other way to avoid that.

I like this idea.

"RINO" means "Republican in Name Only". It's roughly at the level of the kindergarten playground epithet, and is used by some to attack people who do not meet their personal ideological purity test.
