This guy is a RINO. Let's hope McClintock starts building momentum.

Heard this twice, first on the Hannity show, then a local talk show host (liberal) replayed it for comments. Most comments were favorable.

Hey Cali! He may be RINO but this is as good as it gets. This is the best you deserve at this point in time. If you want to elect a Ronald Reagan type than build for it. But like I said, Arnold is the best man who is electable.
Just look at all the business leaders who've thrown in with him. They finally see a glimmer of hope to dig Cali out of the pit that Grey Davis and RATS have dug you into.

Illegal immigration is destroying this state. Arnold will do nothing to change that.

I am amazed at the greed of the McClintock camp. They cannot win. Everyone knows that. But they are going to make sure that Bustemante does. There is nothing "principled" about thier position. It is just childish greed, imo.

You got that right. He may be a rino, but I did admire his straightford talk today. He has earned my respect. He has got my vote. Wake up conservatives in California a conservative will never get elected in california. I sure as hell do not want bustemonte.
To: apackof2
No "Libertarian" would be caught dead supporting Prop. 49, opposing Prop 54., or supporting free schooling for illegal aliens.

Forgive my naivety, but what exactly is a "RINO"?
IMO:
McClintock is the most conservative, but Arnold is more conservative than he's been given credit for and I support him on almost all of the issues addressed in the radio interview.
We need a Republican, and if Arnold stays true to the policies he endorsed today, he's our best bet for California.

It is just childish greed, imo.Maybe it's not greed but positioning for 2006. Let's assume that Arnold will be happy with 3 years and then want out. He has Buffet on board because they need to reorg the state and it's debt structure.
McClintock knows he can't win but a socially liberal Republican can so a deal gets struck. McClintock bows out with the understanding that if Arnold doesn't run again that he endorses Tom. Riordan will be too old and Arnold can at least get the state thinking economically conservative again.

I heard Sean Hannity interviewing Arnold Schwarzenegger for twenty minutes, and then Sean played Johnny Donovan's one-minute condensation.
Arnold responded frankly and without equivocation. No wonder he's at 48%.
The more shrill his opponents of all stripe become, the more their numbers shrink.
A state with a large majority of Democrat voters, which elected and re-elected a Democrat governor (and lieutenant governor), two Democrat U.S. Senators, and a Democrat legislature is--for the first time in history--recalling its governor and electing a candidate who will fix the fiscal problems.

Go to a libertarian gathering some time and tell them you think banning assault weapons is a great idea but gun laws need to be even MORE "stiffer", and that you want to spend billions of dollars having universal after school programs "for the children" and lots of other goodies because government has an "obligation" to provide "programs for all the people". See how far that gets you with REAL "libertarians".
Arinold is a LIBERAL, not a Libertarian.
BTW, the Republican Liberty Caucus is firmly in McClintock's camp and won't go near "libertarian" Arinold.
