Posted on Drudge and Smoking Gun: The California recall campaign is officially getting dirty...
There can be no doubt that if there is only one candidate that the RATS are going to be dirty and vicious beyond anything we have witnessed in quite a while. Still, I am not going to wait and see what develops, I am going to do as I posted.
Then he went to Hollywood.
I'm in no way surprised about his attitude toward abortion and other moral issues, given his background. I'd love to hear him say that he's had an epiphany and now understands the virtues of modesty, chastity and fidelity to one's God and family, but sadly, I don't see it happening.
Unfortunately this is where we are at - no politician is flawless. We knew this was coming as far as his past and it being made into an issue - Cybil S. pretty much said it was in her tinly veiled threat, and if you had seen Pumping Iron years ago or read any of his previous books/artiles, you wouldn't be suprised.
This is the exact thing that happened as what the dems tried to do in 2000, publicizing the mistakes that President Bush made when he was younger, and trying to make it to be a shocking revelation. Back when President Bush was first running for Governor in Texas, some democrats were urging the leadership and major candidates to make his past an issue. Bob Bullock, in a classy move, and one that probably cemented his friendship with President Bush, partially kept them from doing so, but everything was already out there - it just didn't become an issue.
I'm not saying that President Bush's past is even close to this - it's not, although many at FR frowned upon Bush back before 2000, and especially on usenet, there was a lot of flames pointed in his direction for his past, before he became the main GOP candidate. I believe though that President Bush has since changed and a good friend I grew up with that knew President Bush during those days say he is a changed man as well - which leads to the main question here - did Arnold give all of that up?
I refrained from making a joke about the fact that Arnold didn't exactly drive a young woman off a bridge, that would probably be in poor taste.
How many of Ahnult's former girl friends ended their pregnancies with abortions?
I would love to hear that as well, not just from him, but others who have done things like that in the past. It's hard for me to relate on one level - I went straight into college and ROTC out of high school, and then straight into the AF after college - had I not had those activities and parents that cared about me, it could have just as easily have been me (well, not the bodybuilding part). Back during that time frame, on just about any college campus or major city, you could find those activities, and I knew people that fell into that "culture" (hard to call it that).
I'm not making excuses for him of course - plenty of people with worse backgrounds than him stayed away from that.
And accept bustamecha as gub? Shirley, you jest?
Taking an unborn life is more serious than what Arnold did, but this isn't the time or place to discuss what President Bush did or did not do - I was just trying to make a point that people can change - the man that President Bush was at 20 and at 30, is not the man he became at 40. The relevant question to be asked is if Arnold went through the same changes.
No I'm not a Bush-bot or whatever you want to call those types either - I make no apologies for his past, I accept what he has done since (although I'm beginning to disagree with him and some of those under him) and that he has changed/repented (take your pick).
Yep, absolutely accurate! I said it, and I mean it. The intolerant, hate-filled people are running more tolerant people out of the wing of the party, out of the party, out of your churches and your credibility is null. Keep it up, soon you will have us a completely socialist nation.
