Did Reagan differentiate primary versus election opponents? And did he give example of what was evil? Just curious.

If you really needed a gun, for the weekend for protection or varmint relief... just borrow your dad's, cousin's or neighbor's.
apply for your permit and buy a new one over the weekend.
no harm no foul, UNLESS you have a problem with your background check.

yup. primary opponents were fellow republicans... he cut them a lot of slack. "so and so and I differ on this... blah blah blah " is about the most he could be persuaded to state. Of course he was coherent and did NOTuse "blah blah blah" material like I inserted... He stated his position, and his "understanding" on the fellow republican's position... usually in a favorable way, with an explanation of WHY he felt a little different about "it".

democrats... were open season... (for the gunophobes out there).

The best scenario: Arnold offers Tom a meaty post in his administration, Tom drops out, Arnold wins

Good idea on when to vote for whom. I wish Andy Card would decide the card at least one week before the election.

OR the pubbies could do a 'straw poll' primary to decide.

If Schwarzenegger wants people to believe him on taxes, one thing that would help would be for him to repudiate Wilson's 1991 tax increase. The problem for him right now, IMO, is that he is saying stuff about taxes while continuing to have Wilson and friends in his inner circle.

Sixteen minutes. He answered clearly and when he didn't have a position yet. He said so.......no waffling!

He's more traditional than Rudy.....

He is answering the questions. I don't know why he's ducking debates

Its an axium in politics that there is no reason to debate unless you are behind in the polls. If you are leading, there is no upside, just downside. You only debate if you have to and then you use your leverage to get the best format for yourself.

Its always the guy desperate to move up that is calling for debates. The guy in control, especially with a flush bank acount for advertising sees little benefit in debate.

I don't believe I said she was. If I did please show me where.

And from what I saw she never tried to carjack anyone. Perhaps you sawit differently.

That's not a very dynamic view of public opinion, though. I think many people view a reluctance to debate as a sign that the candidate may have something to hide. They may turn away from him as a result.

I think most people wouldnt know if there was a debate or not and if there was, who was involved. For most people, politics is of less interest than going to the dentist to have a root cannel.

I would love for McClintock to have a fiscally influential position with Schwarzenegger if he's elected. If Arnold is smart, he will snap him up.

Also, Steven Moore's Club for Growth, which I admire, is positive on Arnold.

Best case? Yes, McClintock would be governor. But I do NOT want that racist Bustamante taking over the governor's seat! Say goodbye to California forever if that happens.

I know that that's the conventional wisdom. And my conventional response is to call them a pu$$y.

BTW, I know Arnold will eventually debate, but all this stalling just makes him look weak. I guess he probably needs alot of time to prepare. Last week, he was an action hero, this week he's a politician!

Polls tend to reflect what "likely voters" are thinking. So, a person who is ahead in the polls is ahead with people who are interested in politics, right? Wouldn't many of these people be interested in what happens in a debate?

Hey, his answers are atleast not "well, you know" and blame America first like the Clintons spout out...California Republicans need to deliver the R for today and work on a more conservative California next election...

Re the carjacking,,she was doing what he told her to do which made me think he had a weapon. But the cops got him down and I never saw a weapon. So it looked like she was following his lead. Seems she might have run the other way but may have been to afraid to. Who knows.

To me, it appeared that she was sheilding him to keep him from getting shot. She had plenty of opportunity to run if she had wanted to but chose not to so as to protect him. And she was willing to risk the safety of the child to do it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will win and with his wife Maria (A Kennedy) campaigning for him, many democrats will be pulled into voting and remaining in the Republican party.
The Republican party's stake in this is huge.
Schwarzenegger is a RINO, but that is what it takes to win California.
The big picture is the 2004 presidential election.
A Republican Governor will be an asset.
