CLAIM JUMPERS NOT PATRIOTS

STEALTH, DENIAL and the RULES DON'T APPLY?

Assembly members, from left, Jackie Goldberg, John Laird and Christine Kehoe place a wreath Tuesday at the California Veterans Memorial, near the site of the disputed plaque.

Capitol Park memorial honors gay veterans
By Jim Sanders -- Bee Capitol Bureau -
(Published August 27, 2003)

A small marker unveiled Tuesday in Capitol Park was hailed by gay-rights advocates as the first such state-sanctioned landmark honoring gay and lesbian soldiers killed in action.

The tiny memorial -- about a foot long -- graces the walkway of the California Veterans Memorial and is engraved with an eagle and the words "In Honor of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Veterans Killed in Action."

But while supporters applauded the pavement marker as symbolically historic and long overdue, some veterans groups blasted it as offensive and disgraceful, saying soldiers should not be honored based on sexual orientation.

Controversy also erupted over whether the marker truly was state sanctioned.

Plus another thing: why do we need all these markers for every different group? I want an obese veterans, blond veterans and short veteran memorial erected now! These groups have all been overlooked and plus each of these groups get ridiculed just as much and with never a word said about it all the time. Blond jokes are ok, gay jokes are discrimination.

I hope your just as surprised at those KneePad Republicans who support that immoral whore Ah-nold. He just loves the gay movement along with abortion, gun control, affirmative action, Gay marriages, gay adoption.

They'll tell you he's fiscally responsible, Well moral people are also fiscally responsible. Maybe more so.

Why are people honoring gay service people? .. did they serve their country only because they were gay?

I have been pondering something, that those far smarter then I may have an answer to. Although, it would take some very clever lawyer and a big stretch to make it applicable. Bear with me for a second here, if you will, but:

Using the following definition (from Webster's) of "religion"

a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

Can the argument be made that this is a violation of church and state?

Would a plaque honoring our Christian or Jewish soldiers be acceptable? Of course not.

Has not the ACLU argued against putting a cross or a Star of David on Veterans headstones? (if not they someday will)

Does not the ardent behaviour of the progay crowd potentially qualify as a religion under that definition?

I beleive it does. Maybe someone can file the case in Alabama, where we might have a chance.

What about us left handed veterans? We've been ignored long enough after facing the adversity of having to use right handed guns. Without a monument just to us, we must suffer in silence. /sarcasm

What about monuments to veterans who are and were fans of cetain sports teams? I'm a Clemson fan and a veteran. If I had enough gubmint research dollars, I'm sure I could produce several studies to prove it's genetic.

These Pink PITA mirror lickers are above the laws of man and nature as anything they do is free publicity for their agenda. The text seems to state that the state states they did'nt approve of this pile in their statements.

Albeit I am 110% in approval of any recognition of veterans and their families. IMHO to dedicate something to only one group ,be it sex, race or some perversion such as this seems to dilute the real message of a grateful nation honoring their fallen heros.

............Stay Safe !

Los Angeles National Cemetary

It has now been confirmed that the rumbling, experienced today in LA was the result, of a mass turning over of veterans at the Los Angeles National Cemetary in West LA.

PDN via Free Republic broke this story last week. We need your help to remove this insult to America's heroes.  PLEASE, email your views on the IMMEDIATE REMOVAL of this offensive, unauthorized plaque from an official war memorial. We need heads of Veterans organization from all over America as well. Many here are afraid they will be seen as politically incorrect for demanding this plaque be removed.  Your city or state will be next if it's not stopped now.

E-Mail PDN Webmaster with your demand this atrocity be removed.

Speaking of removal... why was this news item removed from breaking news within seconds of it's posting? This NEWS item was published TODAY... when we broke the story last week is was breaking news too and removed by FR.  Is there a reason this matter should not reach the largest possible Free Republic audience? Jim Rob... this was one of the issues I wanted to talk with you about when you were here in Sacramento. See original postings:

I know veterans that are war heroes. Real heroes….the kind that rushed the machine gun nest in the Ardennes and took out the enfilade enemy fire with a hand grenade that was decimating their platoon during WW II (they are very old men now). Others humped the rice paddies of Vietnam, doing their duty without fanfare….but heroes nonetheless. Still others were maintainers, supply officers, or medics.

Some of these men are recovering alcoholics. I stress the word "recovering." The have recognized their problem and their sin, but they deal with it. They would never, ever--wish that their service to this great nation be defined by their condition. Ever. That is their cross to carry….and most of them succeed and are proud of their victory over alcohol.

To see this display reeks of those who wish to "crawl into" the blanket of honor of those who have fought, died, and were wounded in service to our great nation. To give the Cliff Notes version: they are parasites of others service. Yes, there are people who have been afflicted by the sin of homosexuality who have (and are) serving in the military. There are also wife beaters, child molesters, Wiccans, obsessive gamblers, incest beasts, rapists, and murderers. But the majority are none of these…as is the case for our American society in general.

This naked attempt to legitimize the blatant whiff of feces driven homosexual sex by donning the honor of our fallen military heroes is disgusting, transparent, and degrading. It is insulting, and shameful.

Shame....if only it were more common.

EXCUSE ME? With all due respect, do you want us to be propaganga agents of the Sacramento Bee? This was not intended as an excerpt it was intended to point out the lies and deceit of our elected official and stewards of veterans affairs. (From the Governor to the California Deptment of Veterans affairs)

If Free Republic is going to tell a Veterans Support organization how to post, I suppose we should rethink our being here.

I died

... at Bunker Hill. Grapeshot tore through my body at New Orleans. Crushing hooves with riders as swirls of blue and grey ... and red ... crashed down upon me in strange-sounding places like Chickamauga, Antietam, and Shiloh.

The heat and swamp sucked at my last moments in the wilds of Cuba. A green fog of poisonous gas slithered over the side and into my trench, where water stood mixed with slime and blood

I lay face down in fetid pools clogged with jungle vines, felt the hot sands of Africa burning through my back, lay with cold cheek against wet beach sand and fell from gingerbread doorways into cobblestone streets. I gasped for air and breathed fire and oily water.

Snow clung to my lashes and ice formed at the corners of my mouth as a tiny wisp of steam wafted from the crimson flow of life out of my ears and stomach.

As I fell forward, I felt the jagged pain of bamboo beneath the water tearing at my flesh.

I fought and died when I didn't know why. I was killed before I was old enough to vote. I never knew the pleasure of savoring the memories that come with old age. I left mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, children and sweethearts to weep after me. I lay where names and landscapes and faces were all foreign to me. To this day, no one knows where the earth swallowed me.

I was called wop, nigger, dago, spic, kike, honky, and mic. I was tall and short and thin and heavy and young and old and cheerful and sad. I was a shop steward, an insurance agent, a writer, an orange picker, and the head of a grocery chain stretching from Baltimore to St. Louis.

I lived around the corner, up the street, next door, over the garage, across the tracks, on the hill and out of a suitcase. I came from a family farm, college campus, factory, new-car agency, and Broadway.

I died that we would remain free, that liberty would not perish, that women and children would be safe from terror, that my home would be protected, that an idea would be proven right, that my friend might live, that people back home could make overtime in the plants, and that a sagging economy might be helped.

Sometimes I served my country, sometimes my ideals and sometimes my own ego.

But I served.

I hope you pause for a few moments to think on these things. You are still free to think ... and speak ... and publish whatever you wish because I gave the most I had ... my all.

Some of you have known some of my pain, my tears, and the sickness of soul for the waste of human life.

Yet, the giving of my life was not wasted. For perhaps somehow, in some way, people will do something to end my dying.

My death has extended the time given you to do that something.

After the next war there may be no one left to honor the dead.

A Veteran is a Veteran

Excellent point Michael... THANK YOU!

It seems we have no lawyers willing to defend us from the constant invasive tactics of these people. WE ARE THE ENEMY in their eyes.

Mario Benfield of Alexander Hamilton American Legion Post 448, San Francisco needs a wake up call... problem is, who will give it to them.

I attended both the groundbreaking and the dedication for this memorial. Had any of us known this grand tribute to our veterans would be defaced, I can only imagin what might have been reaction then. But again, these people use the cover of their closets to do their bidding in state government while the cowards duck and run for cover after the fact.

Had this state not passed "hate crime" attribution to anything remotely approaching "anti-gay" with severe enhansements to the sentence, I'd take a pick ax to this slap in our veteran's faces. They broke the rules, it's NOT authorized, so I'm giving serious thought to OUR RIGHTS of free expression. If it was in San Francisco, I could take a dump on it and be home free. Hmmmmm....

Thank you! Please help us get this plaque removed. As noted in our earlier post, some friends in high places are looking for consensus. So far, larger veterans groups have been reluctant to go public with their outrage.

I love to find a canine trained to piss on command. You'd love that picture plastered somewhere. It's what it deserves. If there is a civil rights lawyer out there, willing to defend me when I'm arrested, speak up.
