"To win control a party must keep its base and get over half the middle. If the Republicans have more RINOs than the Democrats have DINOs the Republican agenda prevails. "

THANKS JIM FOR BEING UP FRONT.

Buffalo Head - your thought is not worth a nickel. Republican agenda prevails??? Incredible. RINO means Republicans who vote as Democrats. It is the DEMOCRAT agenda that prevails. The Democrats get strong because they are solid. Know any pro-life Democrats running?

Yeah, I do pay attention, like how I notice that you didn't bother to cite which poll you were quoting, whereas I wasn't sure which one I'd seen the figure I was citing in, as was evident by my phrasing. But I guess you missed that distinction.

When your state manages to elect a better GOP candidate than Ryan, I'll pay attention to your mumblings.

Okay, so you've settled on your second argument (target audience as opposed to funding necessary to create the ads).

On that subject, I've heard his radio ad a couple of times on one of the major talk stations in a little market you might have heard of: Los Angeles. Haven't been home to watch TV yet today, though.

That's nice.

Putting political ads on talk radio known as "preaching to the choir."

He's still "Tom who?" to the rest of the world.

Haven't been home to watch TV yet today, though.

I know folks who have. "Tom who?"

Sure thing schoolboy.

You go on trying to convince yourself you have made a point…any point and I’ll keep on laughing.

So now the argument evolves yet again. Slippery sucker, aren't you? Yeah, it's evident by all those staged arguments (Phil Hendrie notwithstanding) that only conservatives listen to talk radio.

He's still "Tom who?" to the rest of the world.

Which is fine, since in theory it's only Californians who will be voting (unless Davis can ram that drivers license bill through quickly enough). And I really can't help it that you hang out with people so uninformed that they have yet to hear the name of one of the main Republican candidates in this election. Clearly you can't be depended on to inform them, in any case. Sounds like your friends are a big part of the reason we have Gray Davis in office in the first place.

Again, you show your immaturity.

I suppose all are welcome at FR, including high schoolers.

I do hope, however, that you're the exception and the next generation is much brighter.

I'm sure it is.

So now the argument evolves yet again.

Yup, you evolved it. If you demand that I lay out every single potential argument in my initial post, then I hereby demand that you take an airborne fornication at a rolling doughnut.

Slippery sucker, aren't you? Yeah, it's evident by all those staged arguments (Phil Hendrie notwithstanding) that only conservatives listen to talk radio.

The ones arguing with the hosts won't go for McClintock. The mushy middle doesn't listen to talk radio. So he gets the votes that he'd probably get anyway. In this case, he actually wasted money.

Which is fine, since in theory it's only Californians who will be voting (unless Davis can ram that drivers license bill through quickly enough).

Ha ha.

OK, you overly pedantic a**hole, he's still "Tom who?" to the rest of the California electorate.

And I really can't help it that you hang out with people so uninformed that they have yet to hear the name of one of the main Republican candidates in this election.

Yeah, believe it or not, I hang out with people who generally get interested in politics in the last two weeks of the election, based on what they saw on TV during the previous three weeks.

Oh, YES!

SAME and DIFFERENT

ARE

definitely PSYCHOBABBLE terms.

I would recommend you stay quite wide and clear of those terms.

As can be discovered with the VIDEO:

How to Raise and Teach a Thinking Child : Helping Young Children Think About What They Do and Why (1997)

found at:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1886941211/103-8440301-4815005?v=glance

I assume it's similar to the book by a SIMILAR title.

Given that it works well with 3-4 year old children and UP, it' would appear to be somewhat beyond your skills as evidenced by your reply. You'd probably sleep better just avoiding such terms altogether.

SAME/DIFFERENT.

Psychobabble.

Fascinating. What won't the Commie indoctrination [school] system produce next?!

SAME/DIFFERENT. Awesomely challenging concepts, those.

No wonder some characters have trouble telling the DIFFERENCE between Cruzatlan and Arnold.

BTW, "UP" is normally OPPOSITE of "DOWN." And DOWN is where one tends to fall when one has trouble telling the DIFFERENCE between a step UP and a step DOWN.

And Arnold is at least one step UP.

But now that I've taxed your comprehension overmuch. Perhaps you'd better go lie down and take a break from the threatening psychobabble.

PROVE that I want to beat Shrillery?

Welllllllllll don't that beat all!

Ahhhh ain't no Doug from Upland but most honest folk hereabouts ain't had no doubt on that score for a coon's age.

Maybe you should try opening your eyes and ears more often. You might actually discover a concept called PERCEPTION. It's conceivable you might even learn to, well, read something besides your own narrow, blind, arrogant Party Line.

Sheesh.

What a fascinating critter some people can be.

I'm curious.

What do your siblings, spouse and/or children report about having discussions with you?

Do they ever comment about how satisfying, meaningful, fulfilling and fair such discussions are?

Are they often coming around to eagerly engage you in more of the same?

Are they in awe of your fair and broad mindedness?

Do they report persistently how gratifying it is to feel so HEARD, SO LISTENED TO by you?

. . . .

. . . . . . . or

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . not?

Like I said, your uninformed friends are a big part of the problem. Enjoy their company. I'm done with you. You go ahead and plan to vote for the shiny object and then later wonder if you made the right decision.

I don't know what your obsession is with schoolboys, but please leave me out of it. In the meantime, if Arnold's support tanks because of the Oui story, you can always try to draft Tom Hanks. Sure, he's a complete liberal and Clinton apologist, but he's popular across all demographics and very electable. And that's what counts, right?

Nighty-night.

Fine. When McClintock splits the vote and gets Busta Rhymes elected, don't whine about how the Dems raised your taxes again...and again...and again.

You kidding? They're ecstatic over the notion of Gov. Busty raising taxes. They'll have years of unhappiness and angst to vent over.

They're the ultimate codependents, thriving on misery.

I've offered the bet here in San Diego.

Arnold gets in and doesn't repeal the car tax increase--I pay the other guy's car tax for the balance of Arnold's term.

Bustamante wins because of a split GOP vote--the McClintock suppporter pays my car tax for the remainder of Busta Rhymes' term.

No takers. One guy even whined, "But we KNOW that Arnold would repeal the car tax if he wins, and that means I'd end up paying your car tax."

They KNOW Arnold's better for the state than Bustamante, and they ADMIT that McClintock hasn't got a prayer--but they refuse to consider giving anyone but their perfect candidate a vote.

If McClintock's ahead of Arnold in three weeks, I'll back McClintock.

Every intelligent person I know has the same opinion. I still feel the sting of 1992 when Clinton won with 42% of the vote, thanks to all those 'principled' Perot voters.

NEVER FORGET.

I really wish you blame the other guys types would admit that Perot stole nothing, Bush 1 with his OWN actions lost that support.

Why it so damned difficult for some to recognize people actually voting there convictions? You have no moral or superior standing authority to blame anyone but the candidates for their poor showing. Bush 1 had 4 years, he spit on the voters with his tax pledge, he pissed off the gun folks with his return of his NRA membership, and he alienated many more when he openly supported the actions of the JBT in the Randy Weaver incident.

He let charges against him by the Clintons during the campaign go unchallenged, he refused to attack the scum for what they were. In effect He rolled over in the election just like he did while President on the tax issue.

So put the blame where it belongs! Right on the feet of the Candidate. I refuse to let that nonsense go unchallenged.
And before you attempt the 'you must be a perot voter' nonsense that seems prevelent on this site, I waivered long an hard on weather to vote for Perot or not. In the end I stayed with Bush 1, but I refuse to blame one person other that GHWBush for that lose. He got the result he earned.

Ross Perot was nothing more that an avenue for disappointed voters to turn to. Don't bet that those voters that cast a ballot for Perot would have otherwise voted for Bush. If they were disappointed enough to vote for Perot, they were most likely going to either vote for Clintler, not cast a vote for the President at all or just stay home.

That sting you still feel comes from the lack luster behavior of Papa Bush! I feel it too.
