I think that Schwarzenegger for Gov with Euberoff for Lt Gov would be fabulous.

They are both excellent with problem solving and finance, they are respected, and aren't career politicians.

You're the one who is uninformed and you think you're informing me. That's hilarious.

Survey USA? Call me suspicious but just who the hell are they? I mean, they have Gephart winning in Iowa and (R)nold with the highest numbers ever. LOL. Just call me cynical.

I, on the other hand was informing you of another poll, its the Field Poll, maybe you've heard of it before. Check out his unfavorability numbers here on something alittle more widely accepted.

California is not Indiana.

California people have rejected gay marriages and have passed laws forbidding increasing taxes. California people are further to the right than Arnold is, I will tell you that.

Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg, Warren Beatty, Susan Sarandon, Al Franken, Ed Asner, Mike Farrell and Rob Reiner are also expected to rally against the Terminator.

If Bustamove wins, these people win. If Arnold wins, these people (social liberals) still win.

If they can convince the other side to support a liberal, by showing their biggest "fear" is Arnold, not Tom, and that the contest boils down to Busty vs. Arnie, they win no matter who is elected.

I never believed in a "win-win" situation, and until now. They have a win-win, we have a lose-lose.

Everyone on this forum is right to support Tom McClintock at this stage of the game, including Jim Robinson, and I would say most especially Jim Robinson.  Jim has been a figurative leader of ours for years.  I support him making a public statement on Tom's behalf.

Tom McClintock has the best policies, the longest trackable political history and the most experience that would reveal him to be able to lead this state in the "right" direction.  There's simply no denying that Tom would make a good governor for the State of California.

Where some folks go off track, is thinking that those who voice support for Tom must by nature also support Tom until October 7th, even if he has no chance at all of being elected.  I cannot speak for Jim here so let's be clear that these thoughts are my own from here on out.

Tom McClintock should receive our utmost support until it is clear he cannot garner the support to be elected governor.  At the earliest opportunity that becomes appearant, he should step down and endorse Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Conversely, Arnold Schwarzenegger should also step down if his numbers dip below those of McClintock and it becomes appearant that he can't get elected.

At this stage of the game we must push the best man for governor of California.  We should NEVER trash his in-party opponent.  Every unkind thing we say about a candidate before they become the sole candidate, will be used by the other side to turn off our base after they become the sole candidate.

Some very misguided, childish and vindictive McClintock supporters on this forum have decided that killing off Schwarzenegger's viability is a wise thing to do.  I'm here to tell you it is not.  If Schwarzenegger winds up being the party leader in mid to late September, every one of their publicly stated arguements are going to find their way into television spots destroying Republican's will to support him prior to October 7th.  It WILL cost him votes.  It WILL help Cruz Bustamante if Arnold is his only viable opponent.

Those who support Tom should spend their time praising him.  Those who support Arnold should spend their time praising him.  Neither group should trash the other or their candidate.  That's what Ronald Reagan's Eleventh Commandment was all about.  He had RINOs in his day.  He still created the Eleventh Commandment.

Folks, let's not put on our Republican cheerleader outfights, then voice cheers that will support the opposing team.  Root for all our players.  May the best man win.

I hope it's McClintock.

Then why is Gray Davis Governor and not Bill Simon? Right now, all I care about is the California economy. For the 100th time, 1.6 million people did not sign a petition to recall Gray Davis because of his views on gay marriage. Let's fix the economy, then we'll concentrate on that.

My mistake. I guess it's because you're spouting the same cowardly nonsense as a number of others.

So you admit you're wrong. Keep that in mind.

Actually, I think around 17% is the latest. Not that I'd expect you to be impressed by a 13% jump in less than a week's time. I mean, when has momentum ever been a factor in an election?

Again, you're wrong. The latest poll, taken 8/26, results as follows.

CA Governor Replacement 8/26/2003
Schwarzenegger 45%
Bustamante 29%
McClintock 11%
Ueberroth 6%
Huffington 3%
Other 4%
Undecided 2%

Link

Well, gee, I seem to recall someone using the derogatory term "McClintites." Pardon my mistake.

"Derogatory"? Only if you consider a connection with Mcclintock a bad thing. If that's the case perhaps you should consider disassociating yourself from him. That call is yours. And for the record...you're wrong again.

Oh, so the rest of it was a collection of typos? As for his chances, Simon came pretty close to getting elected with no political experience and an inept campaign. But of course, why should we think that a man could be elected who's well-versed in California politics, capable of running a competent campaign, and who not only has articulated a plan to turn things around, but is already working to undo the car tax hike?

Characterize your misreading my words any way you'd like. But the fact remains, I just happen to think Mcclintock stands little chance of beating Arnold or Bustamante. I guess that makes me a RINO or a RINO supporter...huh? Then so is Ann Coulter as she's said the same thing. And for the record...you're wrong again.

Still, best to be on the safe side and offer dire warnings to everyone who'll listen about the danger of allowing him to continue in the race for awhile, right?

Is that your philosophy? It surely not mine. I think he should continue until he realizes his campaign is hurting his party and assisting that of Bustamante. And "dire warnings" is your term. I just happen to think Arnold has the best chance to win. Again, so does Coulter. And for the record, you're wrong again.

Nope. You're clear as crystal. Downright see-through.

Oh, you're confused alright. Unless you consider 0 for 5 being "crystal clear".

Have a nice day.

Wow, that updated one is d*mn funny!

I thought everyone heard that Arnold doesn't like taxes! What more do you people want from him!

You people just want Bustamante elected. I've figured you out. /sarcasm off.

I checked your poll...it's laughable. The question is...did you happen to note its date? It's dated August 16th, over ten days ago and right at the time idiot warren buffet announced Prop 13 should be repealed. Nice try though.

As for the Survey USA poll, which is recent not outdated... no one (including you) has debunked its results. It's as credible as any. Certainly more than one 11 days old.

Dumb as in electing Clinton....twice and anyone voting for Hillary Clinton. I don't remember the last time I wasn't guilted into voting for the exceptable conservative (with some liberal ideas) candidate. But I don't want to be the reason a demo wins an election. Wish it were different, but I don't see it changing anytime soon.

You sure are defensive about this poll that just happens to agree with what you are saying, that everyone is voting for (R)nold. Funny how know one I know thinks that way, if it was half the law of averages would suggest a few at work would...So its as credible as any, I see, who are Survey USA? Edu-ma-cate me on their history.

Yeap, and only 30% of the Folks in the Colonies wanted freedom and independence too. But when the PATRIOTS earned it with their blood and sweat the other 70% sure didn't go back to Britian.

If you can't stand up and fight for basic principles your nothing! History has shown repeatedly what happens to sheeple.

We get the government we deserve. Evidently some want a gun grabbing, abortion loving, socialist for govenor.

Seems to me, that instead of pushing for a vote for Arnold, they would be wanting Davis to remain. After all that is what he stands for.

I'll never again vote for a RINO, under any circumstances. Wouldn't be prudent. Especially not one who said this:

"I would never stand in the way of any child going to school, whether he or she is here legally or illegally, it does not matter."

- Arnold Schwarzenegger, October 2002

As a Californian who is from Indiana I can tell you this, you are 100% correct and don't let these Nattering Nabobs of Negativity try to bring you down to their pathetic defeatist level.

Look at the truth of our voting when we don't have to decide whether some RINO will implement what he kinda promises;

1994 - Proposition #184: Three-strikes, life imprisonment for repeat felons.
1994 - Proposition #187: Cut off state funds for Illegal Aliens.
1996 - Proposition #209: Ended statewide Affirmative Action
1998 - Proposition #227: Ended bilingual education
2000 - Proposition #22: Defined marriage as one man - one woman.
