Wesley Clark Admits He Lied

Wesley Clark admitted the White House DID NOT pressure him to lie that Iraq was behind 9/11. He now admits it was a Canadian think tank.
Previously, Clark had insisted that the White House called him, as the towers were falling, to pressure Clark to go national that Iraq was behind the attack. He has backed off that claim and admits he was "confused".

Don't mean to be nosy, but I saw your pics in your profile and was wondering if you Photoshop on another web site. The "I want to believe" is something that's used there a lot.
To: mewzilla
You're right - the roundtable did say they think there was a little problem with megalomania!

Is this true? Anyone else heard this? The ol' blame Canada routine?
The towers are falling, he's taking a call from a "Canadian think tank?"
Sounds moosy, but worth some jokes.

As if Wesley Clark crossed the mind of anyone in the White House on 9/11/01.

And I don't even think I used that phrase for Clinton! It's not too late. He still fits the description.

There's a thread on FR from this afternoon that Clark also told a news organization that he got fired from CNN because of calls from the White House!
Didn't admit it's because Lou Dobbs resented giving a potential presidential candidate free air time.
Also, who among us can imagine CNN doing anything the White House suggested? If the White House had indeed tried to pressure CNN in the manner suggested by Clark, it would have been all over the news.
Clark - another leftist who believes in the vast right wing conspiracy theory.

mewzilla (above a few posts) must have heard it too because he or she reminded me that the term "megalomaniac" was used at the Roundtable to describe Clark.
My husband and I stopped our card game to listen and were astounded at the audacity of the lie.

RUSSERT: "By who? Who did that?"
CLARK: "Well, it came from the White House, it came from people around the White House.
Clark had insisted that the White House called him, as the towers were falling, to pressure Clark to go national that Iraq was behind the attack. He has backed off that claim and admits he was "confused".
So, Timmy's question was what confused him. It's Timmy's fault. Let's hope that if he gets a Pr or VP nod, in the debates they won't ask any confusing questions like "Who did that?" and confuse the General.

One of the rountable guests (not a regular - can't remember his name - sorry) said that Clark had claimed that "as the Towers were falling the White House called" him to pressure him to go public that Iraq was behind the attack.

Thanks for the reply.

I hadn't seen Clark's public admission that he lied in the NYT. Thanks for the link.
Of course, in that article, he doesn't admit he lied but rather pretends there is a "myth" of a story going around.
As we can all clearly see from the MEet the Press interview with Russert, he claims the White House called him on 9/11 to pressure him to go public that Iraq was behind the attack.
Isn't the internet great? ha ha

One more "presidential hopeful" down the tubes! Not if he's running as a dim.
Actually, I believe being an accomplished liar is a requirment.
Oh...I get it.
Instead of playing dumb and deying it he blew it by admitting it.
Nevermind.
