I would like to ask all of you to pray for my friend, Marijon's granddaughter. Her name is Sara Grace. She was born on June 6, 2003, 3 months early. She weighed 1 pound 6 ounces at birth. She has been in neonatal ICU since that time. At 2 weeks of age, she had to have a colostomy for perforated bowel. As you can imagine, she has had ups and downs, but as of last week was weighing a whopping 4 pounds! Last Thursday, they did surgery on her to re-connect her colostomy. On Sunday, she developed an infection, and on Monday her heart stopped beating, and she stopped breathing. They got her heart beating again, and she is now on a vent. The doctors say they think it was the infection that caused her heart to stop, but thus far, they have not been able able to determine the type of infection, although they know it's bacterial. She is on two different kinds of antibiotics, and today, 24 hours later, she is trying to breathe on her own, and they are trying to wean her off the vent. The doctors say the next 24 hours will be most critical. I would appreciate the prayers of all you prayer warriors for this precious little girl.
I have a picture of Sara Grace, but I am too technically challenged to know how to post it! Would one of you untechnically challenged freepers freepmail me so I can send you her picture to post? Thanks! :-)

There is always room for another of God's angels in my heart and on my prayer list. May the Divine Healer in His infinite mercy, heal and nurture His creation.

Prayers sent.......both of my children were preemies as well - I can remember the day our son reached 4 whole pounds! Amazing the way these little ones fight to survive.......

Thank you so much. I am very touched by the kindness I've seen on these two threads regarding the babies. I'm not one who, in my own life, has ever been on the receiving end of much human kindness, so I try to support it whenever I see people being kind. Anyway, there is just something in me that is uncomfortable with more ritualistic forms of prayer. I'd just rather talk to God simply and from my heart, and hope that he hears and understands what I'm trying to say.

What a sweet baby. Prayers going out for her.
I like to tell parents of preemies that Sir Isaac Newton was born very prematurely, too, 360 years ago.
Have never been able to find out exactly how prematurely Newton was born. But it was said he was so tiny, he "could be fitted in a quart pot." (Check the size of a quart pot in your kitchen!)
