WASHINGTON - In a boost to her flagging campaign, Democratic presidential candidate Carol Moseley Braun is expected to pick up her first major endorsements next week from the National Organization for Women and the National Women's Political Caucus. The endorsements, first reported in Friday's editions of the Chicago Sun-Times, will be announced Tuesday in Washington by leaders of the groups, according to a source with Braun's campaign. Spokeswomen for the organizations confirmed they would be endorsing a candidate on Tuesday but declined to say who it would be. Braun has played up her support for women's issues on the campaign trail and received a rousing ovation at a NOW forum last month after saying it was time to elect a woman president. She is the only woman in the field of nine contenders seeking the party's nomination. But the former Illinois senator and ambassador to New Zealand has struggled to elevate her profile and raise money. A poll taken last week in New Hampshire, the state holding the first primary, had her among three candidates registering 0 percent of the vote. She has not fared much better in other key states. The endorsements from two of the nation's most influential women's organizations would deliver much needed organization and monetary support to the Braun campaign. NOW says it has about 500,000 members across the country, while the National Women's Political Caucus has about 25,000 members and supporters. Braun is expected to formally announce her candidacy in mid to late September.

I would think an endorsement from the NAGS would be a kiss-of-death by now.

actually, it's a sure sign that she's gonna drop out..otherwise there's no reason to waste whatever political capital they have on such a weak candidate.....this is all staged..this way, they can maintain the fiction of "sisterhood"..then, about Nov..when she drops out..they can focus on their real choice..it even works for the two groups..it allows them to delay makign an endorsement..less chance of backing the wrong horse in the race..

I will quote a statement Carol Mosley Braun made to NOW during her senatorial campaign:
"Anita Hill was crucified for our sins."
Braun, BTW, claims to be a Christian.

.....and exactly which was Mostly Fraud refering to? Simony, Lust or merely avarice?
I've been told by a friend of mine who is Catholic that offensive stupidity is a venal rather than a mortal sin, so she's off the hook for that one.

And NOW's, though they've been dead/irrelevant for years.

500,000 members? Ha! Ha! Then why when they
do hold national conferences they are lucky to get
100 people in the building.
More like how many pounds the few hundred members
weigh.
To: Princeliberty
1/2 a million members and a collective IQ of 25!

Hey, if NOW gets 100 people to come to their conference that's still about 99 more than typically show up for Mostly Fraud.
To: JustPiper
Id rather she stay in and get humiliated
To: Travelgirl
The DemonCrap party is already humilated if she is the best they have ;)
