What (men) do women want?

Do conservative women look for different qualities of masculinity in men than liberal women do? Is sex appeal not so much in the eye, but in a point of view? Do young Republicans and young Democrats have different ideas about "hooking up" (which is what young people call pairing off).
Like everything else in the soft science of psychology, it depends on the interpretation you read. Data can be dada. My favorite survey of the season was made by the Independent Women's Forum, a conservative woman's organization that contends with radical feminism with long red nails, good looks, educated smarts and a sense of humor. At the end of every summer, IWF interviews Capitol Hill interns who work in congressional offices during their summer vacations.

What a ridiculous question. Do you really need that answer?

Sounds great - are you a church marital counseler or something? Nope. Just one of the billions of children of God. I don't even attend church. Neither did Jesus.

Reminds me of a story (parable?) I heard.
Two old folks, an elderly married couple, were driving down a long, straight highway. The lack of anything else to focus on caused the woman to start daydreaming of past times. She remembered, and starting discussing this with her husband of over 30 years.
"You remember, we used to sit together, side by side, when we went on trips? I could lean against you, felt supported, safe.
Now we don't sit together, why is that?"
The husband looked over at his wife, whom he still adored, thought a second, and responded.
"I'm not the one that moved."

Now that is something to hear. I am so flumexed over this organized religion thing lately.

I don't even attend church. Neither did Jesus. Luke 4:16 "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read."
Minor point. Sorry to disturb you. But please return to the issue at hand.
To: Kevin Curry
I know it is a technical point, but Jesus was Jewish, and yes he did attend synagogue. He never attended Christian church services, nor do I believe he wanted what is accepted as today's modern Christianity. That is the point I was making. I wasn't clear about that, my mistake.
To: Kevin Curry
P.S. I know the obvious, that there was no Christian church in Jesus's time, was not exactly clarified in my remark either. Had there been, I doubt he would ever have attended. Not that there is anything evil about the Christian church, I would not have anyone accept that.
My belief and point is that the basics of what Jesus WAS ABOUT, were taken, and manipulated over the past 2000 or so years, and have lost much of their truth and value. There are those that can still find and profess the basics, but they are few and far between. IMO, only.
If you get the moral and spiritual value you need from your church, then more power to it and you.

For those of you that are females, I hope you don't take this story as my implication it the the females fault.
That would be to totally miss the value of the story.
The point is how easy it is for us to fall into patterns, and having done so, miss the easy answer.

My standard uniform is polo or lacoste shirt usually ragged and abercrombie canvas long shorts and old K-swiss tennis shoes (surf and turfs)....I'm very haute couture.
Add sweater or pile jacket for winter and I'm done.

For women, having to ask for something takes the 'goody' out of it....she might as well buy herself those flowers or that ring or that foot rub.The 'goody' - that's a good way of putting it, and you summed it up much more succinctly than I did.

What an insightful post... if only I hadn't driven all my women away already, LOL.I don't know. Your problem might be that axe murder rap that keeps following you around. : )

That's because normally those folks who sit on the fence usually get run over by both sides :)

I don't think we are talking about appreciation as much as we are talking about who were are attracted to and how those decisions are , when not based on sanity, can lead to bad results. As far as appreciation, most guys I know do try to show their gal a good amount of love and care.Actually, I was responding to someone else's comment that women often give off conflicting signals; since I agree with that, I thought I would take a moment to provide an example of the reason that happens.
Given that at this stage in the thread, you've managed to call women neurotic, sluts, and whores, I will take the liberty of giving you some unsolicited advice: If you talk about women this way and they don't receive it well, don't be stunned or anything.
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet
Getting a date would be easier if you don't start out with "Hey! Any of you neurotic slut whores wanna go out with me?", but I don't know that for certain... ;0)

Why thank you! [Blushing!]
Here are two more things I've learned, if you will indulge me (since I'm in advice-dispensing mode - LOL):
1. If you want to know how to make someone feel loved, watch how they love you.
2. Treat your partner with at least as much grace as you would treat a stranger; say "please", "thank you", and "excuse me"...it makes a big difference.

OMG - LOL

"Hey! Any of you neurotic slut whores wanna go out with me?" Yeah but if anyone responds it's pretty much a sure thing.

Many women want a man who enjoys pineapple juice.
