August 25, 2003 -- JERUSALEM - Israeli missiles killed a Hamas commander and three other militants yesterday, hours after a top general vowed to hunt down the terror group's "hard core."
Israeli helicopter gunships swooped down on a Gaza City suburb last night and fired a rocket at a car carrying Ahmed Shatawi, 24, the head of Hamas activities in the West Bank, officials said.

The two others killed in the attack were identified as members of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's elite guard, Force 17.
Most interesting line in the posting... for those who may still be deluded enough to believe that arafat is NOT in CHARGE of these animals...
Collin and Mr. President, PLEASE consider that arafat is communiicating his wishes through his Force 17... which I guess is now, Force 16. He has to be taken out of the equation.

By the way, the University of Colorado denies
Wolf Blitzer's and others' claims that this guy graduated there with a civil engineering degree.
STATEMENT: Attendance of Ismail Abu Shanab at the University of Colorado August 22, 2003 STATEMENT
An Aug. 21 report by the Associated Press stated that Ismail Abu Shanab, the senior Hamas official who was killed by an Israeli missile strike on Thursday, was a graduate of the University of Colorado. The University of Colorado has no record that a person by that name attended the university. It is not known whether he attended under a different name.

What I always find impressive is how the Israelis get the car the guy is riding in. Their intellegence must be amazing. And their restraint too. It seems like within a day or two of a bombing, they hit some bigshot's car or house, so they must have a bunch of them targeted all the time. I imagine if they wanted to they could wipe a lot of them out in one week.

Shatawi and at least one other man, believed to be a Hamas militant, jumped out of the car, but as they ran away, the helicopters fired at least three other missiles. Shatawi and his companion were killed. Boeing has an unofficial slogan for the Super Cobra copter that seems appropriate here:
"We made it beautiful, because it's the last thing some people will ever see."
Heh.

Yeah, you'd think the leaders would be eager for their reward in paradise, wouldn't you? You'd also think the youngsters would figure out that they're being conned when the "leaders" run like scared little girls at the sight of the IDF. Didn't Arafat himself disguise himself as a woman to escape the IDF once? He had to have been pretty desperate given the Muslims opinion of women. I'll bet whoever he borrowed the outfit from had big laundry job to do.

I suspect its the result of on the ground informers as well Israel's own spy satellite - if it can read a license plate on a car, it can see who's inside one. That's how Israel opens a can of whoop ass! on the terrorists.

Super Cobra is made by Bell Helicopter in Dallas. Let's give credit where credit is due. Boeing make the Apache.

Good news. Here's hoping that these reports become so commonplace in the coming weeks they won't even be reported individually!

Just another nibble. Make Arafart go bye-bye, then work your way down the tree. The Israelis know how to do this, yet they tolerate the blowing-up of their own innocents. This stupid $hi+ needs to stop.

Israel promised not to kill Arafat. The stupidest move ever but it goes to show that Israel will keep its word whether it's going after terrorists or a cease fire, unlike the Hamas and the rest of these terrorists.

Right.
Shouldn't these brave Hamas commanders have jumped put of their cars, ripped open their shirts and pounded their chests at the Israeli helicopters?
Hamas leaders are cowards who send mentally-challenged, brainwashed children to their deaths in the hope of pleasing a mythical allah.
Pathetic.
