[history]
This is from the front page of the Aug 24, 2003 sunday Pittsburgh Tribune Review. IT concerns the horrible state of affairs of the Pittsburgh Government that has overburdened the taxpayers with excessivbe taxes and swamped the city into a morass of corruption. This is a small scale version of what is currently involved in California with the recall effort. The Liberal Democrats have taken a once beautiful city and have transformed it into a third world slum.

Does the idea of stripping these politicians nude then whipping them down the street seem more attractive?

Every politician in this country that has been in office for any period of time funnels money to special interest and to programs that can garner them votes.
Go to the smallest council meeting all the way to Congress and this happens.
All of them need to be reined in and this foolish spending needs to be stopped. The only chance is term limits and that would only slow it down. We give our elected officials to much latitude and even when they do something wrong there is nothing that can be done.
You have people serving time in jail for a lot less than our elected officials are doing.

Being serious for a minute your right.
However, back to my 'Dream' of nude politicians being whipped down the street by justly irate citizens-Is it time to turn 'The Dream' into reality?

Murphy cut high-profile police and emergency medical technicians jobs...
There must be a manual somewhere that teaches this tactic to liberals. Whenever there is a finacial problem, the first thing they want to cut is police and fire, knowing the people will fight it. Then they turn around and offer new taxes.
When this country was founded only land owners were allowed to vote. I am begining to see the wisdom of this. It would be pointless to try and buy the vote with public money, from those that you are taking the money from.
I don't have a solution, but something needs to change.

I would not mind seeing the listed creatures nude but only if a 'touch-o-the cat' was simultaneously being applied; and, peals of Homeric laughter coming from the throats of those members of the public watching.

I don't know Pittsburgh, but is there any aspect of a new stadium involved? Free access to the luxury boxes for the politicians, their families, and friends often makes for strange transactions.
I also like the minority connection. A city council is often willing to do dumb things with public money to placate a black board member or to buy off a black critic. Take a 50-60 year old black board memebr, especially a female, and I'll bet that she has tried to spend public money to restore some aspect of her youth, a school, church, skating rink, or statue. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it does distort the priorites for spending limited resources and then evolves into benefiting old school friends.

Question: " where are they all"
Response: It takes time. Much misery and suffering must occur. However, rest assured that those presently holding and seeking office by their very essence will create their own irate citizens.
