Statement on the withdrawal of candidate Bill Simon
Senator Tom McClintock today released the following statement:
I am genuinely sorry that Bill Simon is dropping out of the race. He offered a perspective to the debate that will be missed. But his decision to withdraw intensifies my resolve to stay and fight.
At stake in this campaign, is the future of California - and that decision belongs to the people of California and must not be left to the country club back rooms. If the most qualified candidate must defer every time a celebrity or a millionaire casts a longing eye on public office, weve lost something very important in our democracy, and its called merit.
They said that War Admiral couldnt be beat and shouldn't have to run a race against the likes of Seabiscuit. Let me assure everyone that I am one horse that is in this race to the finish line.

Senator Tom McClintock today released the following statement: Arnold will issue one just as soon as his handlers tell him what he thinks.

Hilarious. I heard that Arnold also stayed at a Holiday Inn Express one night, too.

However, Arnold will state the same....differently day by day....depending on the velocity and direction of the political wind.

"Gov. Gray Davis' top individual contributor since 2000 has joined Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger's team of economic advisers..."I read the article...could there be a personal agenda for "self financial preservation"?
Sure appears to me that it is a viable scenario.

McClintock has a lot of *NERVE* dissing Arnold for being a *MOVIE STAR* and then using a *MOVIE ANALOGY* to make his point!
"Seabiscuit" is an *EXCELLENT* movie though! I give it *TWO THUMBS UP*!

I assume that Bill Simon was too conservative, no?
