I'm sorry, but it did and still does strike me as extremely funny that any poster here would identify with Arnold's Hollywood mega-wages. Or maybe I'm the only one not making $30 million a year.

......those not in favor of the recall has risen to 45%. Right now the recall is a crap shoot. Could be a blessing in disguise. I've often wondered why republicans would want to walk into a mess like they've got in California.

I've always liked Tom, and I think he would do a wonderful job as budget director. He'd be in the catbird seat for another run for Gov.

If this is true, thank heaven he dropped out. I voted for him last time, but with what he's done lately, he seemed to be in the race just out of egotism, and was not focusing on defeating Davis or Bustamante. With friends like that, California Republicans don't need enemies.

FYI, Gov Bush makes $120,oo per year as governor - less than the superintendents of most school districts, and less than many other people in state government. He does not pull in $30 million a year like you and others on the forum apparently do.

Good.
I think probably McC should drop now. It would be reasonable, at least, to say that if he isn't within 5 points of Schw in, what, a week or two? he too should drop.

My apologies, but the conservative wing of the GOP does not get to hijack the party and determine who is a 'real' GOPer and who is not. Conservatives blew the election the last time around by putting Simon on the ballot instead of the more acceptable Riordan. And what happened?!?! Simon got blown out by Davis. And naturally ALL of the conservatives' issues were taken up by Davis...NOT!! In order to be heard, you must WIN first.

Not as a republican, anyway, and not a dem, and not a green, yes, I guess an independant. A horse's *ss of a unique color - chameleon!
Some of the stuff she's been doing and saying are making me really wonder about the soundness of her mind.
I don't mean to equate Uberroth with her in that way, just that I think, although they are both well-known people, they don't really have too much more of a chance than Gary Coleman does.

I hope TM wins. Arnold should drop out. We don't need no stinking RINOS (donkeys in elephant clothes) further polluting California.

I'll defer to you, but I'm not really comfortable at all that the valley is as conservative as you think. Twenty years ago it definate was, but today I think you're exercising wishful thinking.
To: DoughtyOne
The poll is having the affect they hoped for, though. Same as the one last weekend. I just heard Tony Snow say "support for the recall is slipping, according to latest polls". They just report the latest numbers, never question them or the timing or how realistic it is they changed so fast. CNN and MSNBC & the networks will be jumping up & down with this "decline of support" story. I have gotten so sick of the TV news and the pursuit of a divisive big story that simply gets ratings!

I'm glad the the LA Times is providing Davis with some reason for hope, though. The longer Davis continues the fight, the better.

It totally depends on which poll you go by. Wait for the next Field poll--it was at 58%.

Folks, quit hawking things that slam Schwarzenegger.
DoughtyOne, I'm not out there so it doesn't matter what I think, and I wish you and every voter in CA the best of luck with this recall. But having read about McClintock and Arnold, I am more confused than ever before as to why people are gah gah over Arnold. Especially some people here on this forum.
