That was quick. I thought he'd hold out a little longer. Let's hope he stays away from politics for good now.

LA is like 80% democrat. Seriesly. Only statewide polls give an accurate picture. This poll isn't hugh if it on addresses the LA demographic.
To: dogbyte12
True, but what I was asking is 'Isn't the ballot non-partisian, i.e. not catagorized by party'. There were no nominating conventions etc...

I disagree that the recall is a crapshoot.
I think on voting day, the visceral disgust with politics as usual, with the corruption, lying and BIG SPENDING will push LOTS of people well over the line in Arnold's direction even in the fait or vain HOPE that he WILL clean house in Sacramento.
I think the level of disgust, even despair in CA must be palpable by now. Isn't it group?

You really think McClintock will be out by Labor Day?
To: woofie
Also is the LA poll likely voters? probably not
I think it was.... but it depends upon the methods they used in questioning....
I think it's a go but the dems will fight it tooth and nail because they don't to lose the Gov. seat which could happen if the recall is a go....

Gov. Gray Davis received a surprising boost Friday when a new statewide poll showed California voters nearly evenly divided on whether to remove him from office.

Tom McClintock
Tough to come remotely close to being seriously considered at all by any but the most conservative of CA voters.
Besides, he comes across as smug and a bit condescending.
Arnolds comes across as being or having been 'one of us.'
Which do you think the mass of voters will align with the easiest? . . . will vicariously identify with the easiest?

Arnold should just name Tom his budget director. Maybe that would satisy Tom and his supporters.
To: BonnieJ
So, would you rather have a recall of the only person who is going to protect children and grandparents, or those evil Republican racists? Hmmmmmmm?
Pravda on the Pacific is simply doing what it does best, herding the people for the state, but not the State of California. They have better plans...

"Arnolds comes across as being or having been 'one of us.'"
You mean a DU type ?

Simon dropping out also must mean the Dems are having a hard time finding any real dirt on Arnold.

Voters in favor of recall is now down to 50%.. Bad news. It depends on who does the poll. A recent "field poll" had the Democrat winning. It didn't say who did it, who was asked, or where the poll was taken.
"Out of a group of 10 illegal aliens in California, Democrats are ahead in the race for California by 99 %. Our poll shows Republicans at 1%. Unfortunatly, this poll cannot be verified. 1% of those questioned has died under suspicious cirumstances."
