A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

~ Billie, Mama_Bear, dansangel, dutchess, Aquamarine, FreeTheHostages ~

To Our FReeper FRiends: We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. We thought we'd kick back on the weekends and simply review the features of the week. If you missed seeing them and want to say hello there now, feel free to click on the link to that particular thread. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today and tomorrow, please feel free to do that also. One of us will always be around to see the welcome mat is still out, and maybe even put fresh flowers on the table. ~ Billie

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar.
2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up.
3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.
4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.
5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

We are so glad to have you back. Yes, there is no place like home! We missed you, but you were so sweet to keep in touch whenever you could....that helped. :-)

I was touched by your posts concerning your dad. I could just feel the great love and bond that you have with him coming through and I know it was a bitter-sweet time for you. God bless you and the entire dutchess family.

.....that's so sweet..greeting each other on FR.

LOL. He was sitting on the other side of the room from me 'working' (I thought) on his laptop when all of a sudden a message on the thread pops up....he never said a word, just started posting messages to me. Kind of silly, actually. Last night, on yesterday's thread he was asking me when we were going to Las Vegas. We had a whole conversation going back and forth without saying a word.

I guess we better be careful or we'll forget how to actually 'talk' to each other. LOL!

Bear an Jackie think eggs for breakfast is a wonderful idea!

My son comes home from the hospital today. He thinks that he is superman and will be right back on his feet and doing things the way he did before he got sick.

If he was really smart he would use this time wisely and milk the sympathy thing for all it's worth. LOL.

Seriously, I hope he will be back on his feet real soon.

Men!!!!

Yep, I live with one and raised one. I know exactly what you are saying. :-)

Potatoes

Well, Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other, and finally
they got married, and had a little sweet potato, which they called 'Yam.' Of
course, they wanted the best for Yam.

When it was time, they told her about the facts of life. They warned
her about going out and getting half-baked, so she wouldn't get accidentally
mashed, and get a bad name for herself like 'Hot Potato,' and end up
with a bunch of Tater Tots. Yam said not to worry, no Spud would get her into
the sack and make a rotten potato out of her! But on the other hand she
wouldn't stay home and become a Couch Potato either. She would get plenty of exercise so as not to be skinny like her Shoestring cousins.
When she went off to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Potato told Yam to watch
out for the hard-boiled guys from Ireland. And the greasy guys from France
called the French Fries.

Yam said she would stay on the straight and narrow and wouldn't
associate with those high class Yukon Golds, or the ones from the other side of
the tracks who advertise their trade on all the trucks that say, 'Frito
Lay.'

Mr. and Mrs. Potato sent Yam to Idaho P.U. (that's Potato University)
so that when she graduated she'd really be in the Chips. But in spite of
all they did for her, one day Yam came home and announced she was going to marry Tom Brokaw.

Tom Brokaw! Mr. and Mrs. Potato were very upset. They told Yam she
couldn't possibly marry Tom Brokaw because he's just...............

Are you ready for this?

A COMMON TATER !!

Prison vs. Work

Just in case you ever got the two mixed up. This should make things a bit more clear.

IN PRISON...you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell.

AT WORK...you spend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.

IN PRISON...you get three meals a day. AT WORK...you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it.

IN PRISON...you get time off for good behavior. AT WORK...you get more work for good behavior.

IN PRISON...the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you. AT WORK...you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

IN PRISON...you can watch TV and play games. AT WORK...you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON...you get your own toilet. AT WORK...you have to share with some idiot who pees on the seat.

IN PRISON...they allow your family and friends to visit. AT WORK...you can't even speak to your family.

IN PRISON...all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required. AT WORK...you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON...you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out. AT WORK...you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON...you must deal with sadistic wardens. AT WORK...they are called managers.

Now, get back to work!
