Bustamante Fondled Racist Group, Terms

August 20, 2003

In the audio and news link below, I share a story headlined "Who's Cruz?" in Wednesday's Investor's Business Daily. It makes me wonder when the mainstream media will explore Cruz Bustamante's background, record and views. The paper calls Bustamante "the most famous unknown candidate in the race," and cites two stunners about the Democrat.

First, his use of the "N-word" to address a group of African-Americans during Black History Month. Imagine if a Republican had said that! You can be sure he wouldn't have gotten away with calling it a "slip." Second and more shocking is Bustamante's association with the radical group MEChA. MEChA is an anagram for the [translated] Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan. I once pointed out that the land we won in the Mexican war isn't called "the occupied territories," but I guess these kooks actually think of it as such! MEChA seeks nothing less than the reannexation of the entire U.S. southwest - which they consider the northern provinces of this fictitious Aztlan - by Mexico. I once pointed out that the land we won in the Mexican war isn't called "the occupied territories," but I guess these kooks actually think of it as such!

As I bring news of this wacko group to you, I call your attention to the book "Mexifornia" by the estimable Victor Davis Hanson. This is not a wacko conspiracy thing meant to impugn Hanson or Mexicans not aligned with this kook group. The book deals with the proposition that one of the objectives of Mexico is to take California back by populating it. This is a very real factor, since Bustamante is still a member of this group. IBD writes: "He has said he wasn't the most radical Mechista while at Fresno State University (he didn't graduate). Yet Bustamante reportedly refuses to sever himself from the group's goals." Combine this with Cruz's call for almost $8 billion in new taxes and huge piles of cash from Indian casinos that do much for themselves and little for the tribes, and ol' "Large Breasts" has some 'splaining to do.

I love how the media just conveniently ignores this Democrat unfriendly story.

Fondled? Sounds like a headline writer was groping for the proper word ;0)

It is? Maybe it's an anagram of an acronym.

Remember Dick Armey's Freudian slip of Barney fag? That poor guy is still being crucified for it.

The media is strangely silent about this racist socialist. He is from my area and our own press pretends it doesn't know this about him. I have been telling as many people as possible so they won't be fooled by him at the polls.

Hopefully radio and the internet will keep the heat on and the media will have to address this.

BTW, I checked out dictionary.com and there's an obsolete sense of fondled meaning "To treat with indulgence and solicitude; pamper." I guess that's what the headline writer was thinking of. Though it's hard to imagine they'd be unaware of it's far more common meaning.

This man is a radical. It is infuriating to me that a Republican makes an offhand comment at an old man's wedding and it is the leading story for days on end, while a Democrat says the "N" word and no one cares.

Only Republicans can be racist, I guess.
