It is a disgrace for brave men and women to fight and die for our freedoms while an American judiciary tears those freedoms down!!This is now a country that rewards criminality but persecutes people because of their religious beliefs.So much for freedom.

What freedoms has the judge lost? Is he no longer allowed to go to church, or pray, or be a Christian? He didn't have a right to put his religious views on display in a secular building. Would you be as outraged if this was a Muslim judge being told to remove a 5300 pound statue of the koran?

I think not..you can go worship a tree stump if you want to..that's the great thing about this country. And unlike Moore's monument, the sculpture doesn't actually contain the text of the Ten Commandments,...

Here's an idea: Leave the stone monument in place but remove the words. When the Judgment Day comes and men attempt to make the excuse that they didn't know the law because it wasn't to be found in all the land, God will simply say, "Ignorance of the law is no excuse."

I don't. But I would be real angry if they opened court sessions with the words "Thous shall not use the Lords name in vain."

It's a shame that all those who are fighting to remove the 10 commandments (which is God's law and from which our laws are based on) from the court house, aren't putting as much effort into preventing a Muslim Camp from being built on Federal Land.

I have heard a lot about the 10 commandment issue but very little about this.

But then again it is only Christian belief that is under attack

Most opponents have expressed environmental concerns, while some fear it could be used by extremists as a "camouflage" for terrorist activities. Lease negotiations will begin when the Muslim group gives the Corps a new design plan, said Corps spokesman Ron Fournier, according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen. Approval to proceed with the project came after Col. William J. Bayles, the Corps' Rock Island, Ill., district commander, signed off on an independent study concluding the MYCA's plan would have no significant environmental effect, the Iowa City paper said.
The organization will not be required to have another environmental assessment when it submits its revised plan. Originally, the Muslim group proposed a 7,500-square-foot convention center, 10 cabins, 12 tent camping platforms and a 75-foot tall prayer tower. Its second choice, according to a Nov. 12 report by the Corps, proposes a 2,400-square-foot lodge, five cabins and five tent camping platforms, with no mention of a prayer tower.

Oh please. That's just stupid. I suppose China has no morals, no tribe in Africa has morals, in fact, if you haven't seen the commandments of the American god, you're probably out stealing and killing everyone you see.

These laws sprang from the first time two people decided to work together instead of against each other. It's common sense. You people. How do you make your mind wrap around these ridiculous statements?

Isn't the Bible used as an instrument of the court when someone is sworn in? Does the Bible need to be removed from the courts under the same logic that they are using with this ten commandments issue? If not, I feel that the ten commandments should stay put.

You lose. The father admitted hitting two of his children in the fact, having his boys sit with bags over their heads Gitmo-style, and refusing to allow his teen daughter to see a GYN. The court found that he engaged in "excessive disciplinary measures" and entered an order with safeguards to protect the kids - from their father. But at least he wasn't gay, as far as we know.

You should try actually reading these cases sometimes.

However, what's your opinion of my comments regarding...

No one has an issue with display of the 10 commandments if he moves it to his chambers. It's that it's located at the entrance of the building, which seems to be the issue.

I'm not taking a stance one way or the other, for I don't have enough details.
