How 12 Editorial Cartoonists View the CA Gov Candidate, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

Oh yes, he's so incredibly stupid that he has made MANY millions in other businesses outside of the movies.

And Arnold is not just a master at BUSINESS and ENTERTAINMENT - he is also now a proven master at POLITICS...

The way that he did a "head fake" on Mattt Drudge (and virtually ALL of the REST of the media) - to keep his only serious rival (Dianne Feinstein) OUT of the race is inconsistent with his being a "bumbling fool" now.

So, you have to ask yourself, "If Arnold is NOT a political maroon, why is he ACTING that way, with the flap over Warren Buffett, Rob Lowe, Prop 13, etc.?"

Could it be that there is some STRATEGERY going on here?

Could the Governator be skillfully defusing the RATs only substantive charge, that this recall is a "take-over by right-wing fanatics?"

Could Arnold be lowering expectations NOW, in advance of some major new move in the NEAR FUTURE?

I would just remind those nay-sayers of the following:

Here in FL, where I reside, we never had a GOP governor win a 2nd term in office - until Nov 2002, when Jeb Bush made history.

Terry mcAuliffe and every Dem site on the web made Gov Bush their Numero Uno target to take down. And, what happened, here in this state with more registered Dem voters than GOP voters? Gov Bush won in a landslide - a LANDSLIDE. 57% to 43%.

Success breeds success, and voters here wanted Gov Bush to remain in office. So, they made history by sending him back to Tallahassee for a 2nd term. Apparently, voters didn't care one bit that re-electing a GOP gov in this state had never happened before.

McClintock could win it. It is possible, IMO.

While I agree the Dubya ain't no Reagan, even Reagan was no Reagan. What I'm trying to say is that Ronaldus Maximus also raised taxes in his second term and compromised with the Dumbocrats. However, we had a cold war to win back then and he was the most competent to win it. Similarly, today we have a war on terrorists to win and I have absolutely no confindence in any Democrat's ability to win it. Look at how most of them are whining now.

Dan, and CA Guy, I consider myself an open-minded; and not only that, I am truly an independent voter. So, tell me, and educate me, and enlighten me:

Where and what are the qualities you see in Arnold that would make him a competant and successful governor in this time of CA's fiscal crisis?

Because I am truly clueless about that. I see an actor, who can read some lines, and has a celebrity wife, and certainly likes attention, and does have a touching life story to tell.

But I don't see any skills to analyze policy or to surround himself with people who can. And for a person who claims to always be "for the children," one of his current "advisor," was convicted of having sex with underage girls. His other advisor is against all of GW's tax cuts.

I also see no talent to bring people together, when his only platform is silence.

And while he was smart enough to pick up dumbbells to build his body up, he made a foolish choice in taking steroids.

There are other issues tho consider, but these are just a few matters that come to mind. Also, while I am public school teacher and very much "for the children" I get very nervous when I hear someone claim to be interested in reigning in a fiscal crisis constantly talk about putting children "first" - FIRST the wage earner in the family NEEDS EMPLOYMENT. And, meanwhile, you don't keep buying expensive Nike sneakers and Nintendo games "for the chidren" when your own family has a fiscal crisis, even if that's what the kids say they want. Everyone has to cut corners, and kids need to understand something about fiscal responsibility too.

Finally, he has no clue how state government operates.

So -- tell me why this person is your preferred choice in a time of crisis. Frankly, if I lived in CA, I don't think I would vote for him for CA gov even if the state was flying high and had a financial surplus.
