Reagan never needed to call economists (when he was in his 50s) to find out what he thought about things. Reagan stressed tax CUTS, because he believed in the Free Market in what he called the Creative Society. I have 6 CDs at home of his old radio programs where he spoke about what he believed. He never put the Children First.(his lone campaign promise-which means specifics he pledged to do-that he couldn't fulfill on was eliminating the Department of Education)It was all substance, no cliches, no filler. Just "here is what I believe, and this is the reason I do"

Ronald Reagan was leader, a role model, an inspiration. He was a guiding force in times of crisis. He turned the tide, he brought us back, and he made us proud. He did that with specifics, details, and courage in his convictions. He was an unbashed conservative and lived by his motto "Government is not the solution, government is the problem." In short, my fellow conservative, Ronald Wilson Reagan was everything ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER is not.

Must mean California is on to something if you have the editorialist going after Arnold.

McClintock is a nice guy, but even when you hear Republicans on TV being interviewed, he is staying in this more for his political future than any reasonable chance of winning THIS race.

The reason Arnold was the ONLY chance summer of ever winning this race was that he can get other non-republicans to vote for him enough to win.

McClintock and Simon never had a chance, but they do have a chance at getting Bustamante elected by dragging enough of the vote from the conservative side to sabotage any Republican victory at all. If they were out, Arnold is most likely a lock.
If Arnold never got in, both would have lost anyway, so this is how I see it.
Republicans have been chewing their on feet off in this state for years and their stubbornness has gotten Democrats elected as a result. I see NOTHING NEW in this case.

I'll tell you the truth, here is what I honestly believe mnay well happen: Arnold and Cruz split the Dem vote, and McClintock could win it, if the conservatives in CA all got behind him. I really think that is possible. McClintock has the best vision, the most experience, and would be successful in getting CA on its feet again. I think CA has a golden opportunity to pick itself up with this candidate, especially when McClintock is smart enough to see Gov Bush as a model to emulate in terms of fiscal policy. I hope the CA voters don't blow it.

Arnold's Planet Hollywood restaurants were a business failure. And, didn't have to be.

I personally believe Arnold has a very inspiring life story, but so do many other people in this great nation.

I have no belief whatsoever that he currently has the skills, talents and intellectual capacity required to govern the state of CA. But, I hope he continues to serve The People in other capacities for which he is currently more qualified. However, again, the job of CA governor is not a duty I would entrust to him. It is too big a job for someone with no experience whatsoever in government.

In case you didn't know, his last half dozen films haven't been financial winners. They take in a lot at the box office, but they are so expensive to make that they don't make much of a profit.

I agree with you, but the "pragmatists" and the "realpolitik" wonks can't even imagine a scenario where a conservative wins. They're too busy gobbling up the distorted polls and biased "man on the street" liberal puff pieces spoon-fed them by the media. Talk about schizo behavior. "Guys, guys, guys, we can't win because the liberal press says we can't, so let's elect a moderate (i.e. liberal)!" This kind of defeatist behavior is simply sickening.
